Great Parlor Guitar
This is a nice little guitar. It's well made and with good materials. There's just one manufacturing flaw which with a brace inside, but it wasn't too expensive and it make the guitar unique. The craftsmanship is very good, good quality machine heads, frets and intonation good, I like the plain head stock, good wood and finish. I also like that it came without electronics. Too many guitars have electronics in them and cut into the bout. That's not for me, all electronics are different and I like to have the choice, they also eventually fail. The only accommodation I approve of for electronics is to have the ability to plug in through the strap hook. I'll mic it up if needed.

Good guitar
This guitar is a parlor guitar. Not a dreadnaught or a jumbo, please do not expect the back panel of thing to thump serious base into your chest. This guitar is good for finger picking. This is not meant for power chords (but if somebody gets that to work, I would love to hear it). This is real wood guitar. Not one of those laminate jobs that feel like you are holding a sophisticated piece of kitchen cabinetry/counter top. You get a tone that is loud in the midrange to high frequencies. The bass is there but not prominent (again this ain't no dreadnaught). People like vintage sounds. This guitar is like 78 RPM record vintage sounding. The actual wood work is top notch. My only con is that it seems like the rosewood was not properly finished. I got some Behlen finger board finish and solved that issue. The rosewood is now more dent and scuff resistant and it was a deep rosewood color.

Beautiful instrument but be aware that it is very small
Very nice guitar, very well made and beautiful. Just be aware of the dimensions, it is very small. In the end it was too small for my needs and I returned it but the guitar itself was very nice just a bit too small for me.I would not hesitate at all to recommend it to a friend but I recommend that you visit the Godin website and look at the dimensions for this instrument. I ended up with a mini jumbo, which is a bit large, probably a folk model would have been best for me but the mini jumbo is so nice I am keeping it.

It's even more beautiful than pictured...
While I am an adult beginner and remain unable string together beautiful sounds, yet, others that are more skilled than I have demonstrated the lovely sounds this instrument produces. I am thrilled to have something that sounds this good, (even with me playing,) at this stage of my passage. I know it makes learning, listening and appreciating music so much more fun, than learning and playing a lower quality instrument. Set up, out of the box, produced a sound that others (that actually play well) appreciated. They commented favorably about the care and precision, right out of the box.

Amazing guitar at a very reasonable price
I bought this exact same guitar but with the sunburst finish, the Simon and Patrick Woodland Pro Parlor Sunburst HD. The specs are the same as this one, the sunburst finish makes it different, but I would assume that they sound very much the same considering Godin's consistently excellent build-quality. The sustain on this parlor is certainly piano-like, it's simply amazing. It has surprisingly good bass for its size and sweet mids and highs. This is my go-to guitar at the moment. I'd much rather play this at home than my Gibson J-45. I'd say it sounds better than Gibson's Keb Mo model — It's made with the same basic materials sans some luxury features but at a fraction of the price. You simply couldn't buy an antique parlor that sounds this good! Check out the review on Premier Guitar's website.

Fantastic Parlor Guitar
I special ordered this guitar through a local guitar store without having played one and I am very pleased. Normally, I only buy a guitar after having played it. In this case, I made an exception because I already own a Seagull Maritime Dreadnought and have played Seagull Parlor guitars. I liked the Seagull Parlor, but wanted something a little nicer in all solid wood so I looked around in the family of Godin guitars and found the S&P. I checked out and played numerous parlor style guitars from $250 to $1100. For the money spent, this is an excellent purchase. This guitar, while a little plainer in appointments than the $1100 competition, seems to sound and play just as well. The guitar came with the action a little high for my tastes, but that was quickly remedied. You can learn to do this yourself or have it professionally set up for around $40 to $50.The guitar does not have the boxy/thumpy sound that seems to be the bane of small bodied guitars. The fit and finish are very good, and the guitar has great volume for its size. Naturally, it does not have the bass of a dreadnought so don't expect the impossible. It is, however, a small canon and can be easily played with a surprising amount of volume and it has great sustain. I'm eager to see how this guitar sounds later on as it will certainly open up over time.I gave the guitar five stars based on value per dollar spent. There are better parlors available, but be prepared to spend some serious cash to get them. In my opinion, you're getting 90% of the sound of the very best for a fraction of the cost.I would still recommend that you play the guitar and its competition first, and then make your decision. I otherwise, recommend it for anyone looking for a parlor size guitar. It's really sweet.
