I purchased 3 of these knives separately - the set was just a little over what my budget could afford. But I glanced at it the other day and it was on sale- and I had to give in and get this set with the block.These knives are awesome. They are seriously VERY sharp. Both my husband and I have cut ourselves - I didn’t even know I cut myself until I felt the blood running down my hand.These are high quality, very well made, easy to hold, easy to use knives. The Santoku cuts through potatoes like butter. The Pakkawood handles are smooth and are comfortable to hold.One thing to think about is washing these knives. Because they have wood handles- I wouldn’t suggest they sit in water. I feel like the wood would ruin. So we don’t put ours in water…we just wash it, rinse quickly and make sure they dry properly.So far, the 3 knives I purchased separately over a month ago- are doing great. No problems at all. I will come back and update in a few months…good or bad.If you’re looking for a great set of knives w/ block for yourself, or to gift- this set will not disappoint. This set comes in a nice presentation box and the knives all have tip protectors, are in cardboard sheaths, in plastic bags, in a box separate from the block. The block is really nice. I like that I can see each knife (scissors and sharpener too!) and don’t have to pull each one out to find what I want. By the way- the scissors are Epic!!I’m thrilled with my purchase!

Everything was as advertised

I have owned several of Tuo's knives and like them a great deal. They arrive sharp, hold their edge well, and have comfortable handles. They are well-balanced and easy to clean.These particular knives, however, were disappointing. Although the quality of the steel is the same, the fit and finish on this set was some of the worst I have ever seen. The rivets on the handle were proud of the wood, and sharp at the edges, and abraded my hand. There was also some corrosion and staining on the rivets, and on one of the blades. To be fair, I might have gotten a set that escaped their quality control, but I personally would not buy this set again.

Such a shame. Less than 8 months and the one knife looks like the images you see. Rust and just used looking and honestly, I RARELY cook!

After 4 months Knife breaking down…😢😢😢

In 2021 I bought a Black Hawk series knife on a black Friday special. I was really impressed in its quality. So, this year I noticed that they had this set for a Cyber Monday Deal. I've been using a WÜSTHOF 7" Santoku Knife as my "Go To" knife for 30 years. Whetstone/rod sharpened. It has served me well. Now I have this matching set to replace my mismatched set that I collected over the years. The Block is a nice touch with its open design. Only thing is that the block has a more upright design compared to other traditional style blocks. It's not a con but it requires more room to pull out the knives upward. The longest knife requires roughly 20 inches of space to pull it out freely. Time will tell on how well these will hold their sharpness.Closing thoughts... For the money these are well worth it. With proper care I am confident they will last a while.

Awesome knives. Extremely sharp and an absolute pleasure to use. Whether we are cutting chicken or cutting up turnip. The blades just slide thru. We love the knives.
