I love the design. Specifically, the pad covers the back of the neck; the shoulders are also covered. It is very comfortable: heat just right and it definitely works on pain relief.

This is great to walk around in or sit at your desk. It just sits around your shoulders. I love that it goes right down my shoulder and chest front and up my neck. Hits all areas at once. Love it. Wish it went further down my spine though.

Holds the heat for a decent period of time and stays in place better then square or rectangular pads. Like that there is no need to plug in even if means less time to use. Contrary to what other purchasers have wrote, the smell is tolerable and not really unpleasant. Yes it would be better if there was no odor, but the pros outweigh that minor con.

I bought this as I get a stiff neck and shoulders often and wanted something I didn't have to plug in. The heating pad appears well made but it has a really off putting odor that made my entire living room smell the minute I took it out of the box. I never tried heating it in the microwave due to the smell and returned it to Amazon. The weight is good with the rice inside and if you don't mind the odor it might work fine for you.

The MyCare microwavable neck and shoulder heating pad wrap heated well and sat comfortably on my shoulders and neck. I followed directions for microwaving, found no unpleasant smell. I didn't tend to reheat, but that is possible. I figure that if I need to use heat a long time, then it's time to get out my electric heating pad. However, the best thing about this microwave pad is that it conformed to my body very nicely. My electric heating pad does not.
