Birds love it
The birds ( & squirels) love this peanut suet. I'll put it out in the morning and by late afternoon it'll be all gone.

Birds go crazy
Our birds go crazy over this stuff (other C&S varieties as well) and gobble it up. It definitely seems to stay fresher for much longer than regular suet. Just wish it was a little cheaper!

Deer hate it...Birds love it! Especially Blue Jays and Woodpeckers!
Our home backs to a nature park with walking trails, ponds, and tons of trees. So we were excited to set out a bird feeder. Well, low and behold "Suzy" the deer showed up. It was cute at first until she brought her 2 fawn and other friends and our bird feeder was emptied every night. These deer would demolish a 20lb bag of bird seed in 5 days. I, for one, am not paying $60 a month to feed deer. On top of that, she'd whiz in our yard and rip the bird feeder down if it was empty. She even tore apart our suet holder...that jerk. I had enough of Suzy!So I did some research and read deer don't like insect suet, but birds love it. And that made my soul feel optimistic, so I bought it!The ultimate test was when Suzy walked up to eat from the bird feeder again. We all watched anxiously as she took a few nibbles...and appeared to dislike the bird seed then walked away. She didn't even bother with the insect suet! MUWAHAHAHAHA! I won, Suzy! Go eat your plants and stay out of my bird feeder! π βοΈSo, day three, and no sign of Suzy. I've seen chickadees, blue jays, cardinals, woodpeckers, and tanagers so far. I may get a finch sock with some thistle in it, too.I've paired this insect suet alongside safflower seed in a bird feeder (which deer also don't like π).I'm winning over here all day, watching the birds, while Suzy is off eating plants (or emptying another neighbors bird feeder π)! Either way, I recommend this insect suet if you aren't a fan of deer!

Expensive, but the birds love it. Does not melt in heat.
I keep multiple suet bricks out at a time, usually keeping one of these bricks alongside two of the cheaper bricks from the local store. The birds absolutely devour this brick before even touching the other two. They love it. Plus the bricks stay pretty solid, even in the heat....Problem is that these are expensive compared to other brands at the local farm store. Over $3 per brick vs. $1 for the cheap stuff, which they still eat.

My birds just love it.
Who at Amazon chooses the topics to be rated?? Did you see this was bird food? And yet, you asked me to rate the flavor? Sorry, I don't eat suet infused with dead insects and the birds that come to my feeder don't readily communicate their satisfaction with it's taste. That said, the Woodpeckers seem to like it more than the other birds.
