How about no ⭐️s??? Let me start by saying that whatever is in my blood is a magnet for mosquitoes. I did not expect this lone candle to keep mosquito and no-see-ums away entirely, at least without bugs spray as backup. With that said, I ordered these candles yesterday because my previous mosquito repellent device didn’t work. (Five ⭐️s for Amazon’s prompt delivery service!!!) I lit one of the three candles about four hours ago and let it burn for a half-hour before going outside. So it has been burning on my 12 x 11 foot patio where I love to spend spring and summer evenings reading (and reviewing Amazon products - joke) for the past four hours. About a minute ago a mosquito was hovering near my arm. Then another one. The candle is about 3 feet away on the floor. As I said, it’s been lit for hours. And to add insult to injury I am also covered in bug spray. I live in Dallas, Texas, in a not particularly heavy mosquito area - not around water, woods, etc. These candles were a total waste of $37.97 and make my throat itch from whatever is in the scent. As far as reviewing their longevity, I don’t think I’ll get the chance because I’m going to blow it out and pile on more bug spray. On to my next search for the perfect patio bug repellent. 😞

They work. Before you go out into the mosquito-infested area you plan to enjoy, make sure you light them and let them burn for five minutes. Be sure to place them in key areas, known problem areas, known ambush spots, etc. If you can use them to encircle you and yours, they will work very well. In my experience, mosquitoes enter the area of effect, hover around, but never land on you. They are obviously bothered by the citronella scented air. One mosquito whizzed by my ear and I am almost positive I heard an expletive! So, I am really enjoying these candles.The candles smell nice. They look pretty at night. They work! Buy them. In fact, if you are having a bigger get together, I would recommend you buy two or three sets. I once lit the candles, but did not encircle myself, and I got bit on the side of my body not facing these magical candles.

These smell great and look nice, but the wax gets liquid and drowns the wick so they won't stay lit for long unless one keeps pouring the melted wax out.

I was a little skeptical about but candles with essential oils in them because I wanted the scent to be strong to keep bugs away. My husband and I live in the mountains in Hawaii where there are many mosquitoes. These candles not only smell amazing but have kept the bugs away! Very happy with my purchase and want to try their other scents. :)

Nice but very small. I thought the mason jars with the regular size, but they're the mini ones .

Great candles that are different that regular straight citronella. Seem to deter the bugs fine as I have a bathroom that tends to attrack mosquitos......at any rate, I am very happy with them. They come safely packaged and as a bonus you get a jar with a lid once the candle burns down (which takes a while).

Hmm.. I only used this three times. I don’t know what to think. I love the smell it’s not super strong but I don’t know if it really works.. every time I used it it was not buggy outside .. I will have to do and update next time I have a party outside or decide to sit outside for a long period of time to determine if it works or not .. but prevention is super cute and love the smell!

I've always loved the smell of fresh Lemongrass and grow it in my garden, but these candles don't really do much to keep the mosquitos away if you live in a wooded area or near water sources where they are a pest. However, they are a great addition to the candles on my back porch and patio, and look great around a campfire!
