Volant 415960 PowerCore Cool Air Intake

I bought this for a 09 G8 gt. Just beware the mass air flow meter dosent fit good as is.. I took the advise from another reviewer and that was to wrap a little bit of some high quality black tape then you will have a leak free connection. I also took out the blue paper filter that Volant supplied put a K&N cone filter in its place. That was advise from a G8 forum member. The blue filter does a good job at filtering but lacks in the flow dept. I used the 1042XD K&N universal cone filter. The XD line is a double layer design compaired to their standard filter. The fit was a little tight but it will work. Since I bought this for some performance I didn't want to choke down with a paper filter. Just my thoughts. I really like the design of this unit.

the tubing is slightly too small for the opening in the box, at least mine was. not enough to notice with the naked eye but I could tell it wasn't very snug fit, & a bit loose. three days later I get a check engine light saying my system is to lean in both banks. so I take it off, and wrap the tube lip a couple times around with heavy duty mechanical tape to make it slightly thicker. once I did this it fit nice and snug with the opening in the box leading to the filter. reset my DIC, check engine light never came back on and it works great.... Now. they also failed to send me a breather hose that was supposed to be included and is listed on the parts list page. had to go to Autozone in by my own 3/8" breather hose. all in all my experience was very frustrating and disappointing. after jury rigging It all up, it now works great on my 2009 Pontiac G8 GT. got just over 6 rwhp.

I have recently had my GMC dealer install the Volant 415960 Power Core Cool Air Intake on my 2009 Pontiac G8. Throttle response and sound of engine is very good. Gas mileage seems to be slightly improved as well. Took it on a turnpike run and had a blast. Great product so far. Would highly recommend.

Purchased volant cold air kit, because other forums said it would improve gas milage. After I installed the kit and drove the car for a few days, I noticed a 2-3 mile per gallon improvement. Throttle respone and sound of engine is very good, great product.
