this cable works good but only one way. unfortunately i thought it would transmit a signal if i switched it around and it did not. the hdmi to vga worked, but i needed a vga to hdmi cable. so i still give this a 4 stars because it works, just not backwards compatible.example. i have security cameras. the box has a vga output and a hdmi putput. i want to use 2 tvs. but the tvs only have hdmi outputs. so i thought i could hook this from the box to one of the tvs, it did not work because i needed a vga to hdmi instead.but i tested it on a spare tv that had a vga on the tv and it worked so im still giving it a good rating.just beware you cant use it vice versa only one way

I have an old monitor with only a VGA port. I have a new computer with only HDMI ports. What to do? I bought this cable, of course. What can I say? It works exactly as advertised. My computer turns on, everything shines on screen. It's all hunky dory.

Pretty straightforward review.  Got the cable and installed in a retro pi arcade machine.  Cable is high quality and works as advertised.  No need to pay $50 like they charge at radio shack for a similarly styled cable.

Adapter/cable refused to scale properly and set recommended resolution out of native specification. It not recognize my monitor brand and model number.

Worked perfect

I needed a long cord and these are pretty expensive at box stores.

We tried 2 of these, both of them left the screen turning off and on randomly. I went with the ‘Amazon’s choice’ and it works 100% if the time for several weeks now
