Fell in love with Vaughan and Lydia.
'Dirty,' the first book in Kylie Scott's new Dive Bar series, was not what I expected. But that was actually a pleasant surprise. For the heavy material that was touched on, this was actually a light, sweet read, and just the read I needed. From chapter one, I was sucked right into this story, and quickly fell in love with Vaughan and Lydia.I loved Vaughan. He had such a chill presence, but you know under that mellow exterior is a whole lotta deep water. I loved Lydia. Her personality was refreshing, her ability to be honest and push through the awkward was fantastic. And yay for a beautiful, curvy girl full of personality and heart! I loved the way Vaughan and Lydia's friendship developed. There was something truly special in the air that day, and charging their chemistrty forward in such a deep way for such a short period of time. But in spite of the abbreviated time period, I bought their relationship hook, line, and sinker. They were a really great couple, who happened upon each other in the oddest sort of circumstance. But funnily enough, that really worked for them. It took a real stroke of luck to bring these two together. What seemed like bad luck turned into the best luck of all. I really hope they make lots of appearances in the rest of the series, because I can't get enough of them.I also liked the new characters brought into the story, setting up the atmosphere for the series and future books. Dive Bar is fun and is loaded with interesting characters. The only drawback for me was that these secondary characters were chock full of drama. I could have used a bit less of it, especially one set of circumstances in particular. It just made me sad in an otherwise fun and sweet story. But I'm definitely interested in where these other characters and their lives are going. I'm buckled in for the ride.

3.5 Stars
I found this entertaining and hard to put down, but there were a few elements that prevented me from rating it any higher than 3.5 stars - and that is rounding up. I won't go into all the particulars due to spoiling someone else's reading experience, but I will lightly touch on everything I liked and didn't care for. What I liked:Unique romance tropea-typical heroEntire story premiselovable heroine (because I'm very picky about book heroines)Set-up of continuing seriesWhat I didn't:Some loose endsinsta-lovesome very hasty decision makingLydia is a wonderfully funny and mostly confident heroine (who doesn't have some insecurities?) and Vaughn enjoys her, quirks and all. I feel Vaughn is an atypical hero, because he is (in a way) down on his luck when it comes to his career and income. On the outside, he appears easy-going, but still dealing with the loss of his parents and his dreams. I liked that he didn't fit the "millionaire" or "successful" mold of most book heroes and it made for a unique romance. Their meet-cute, or more likely meet-crazy, were some of the best scenes. What I didn't care for were some incidents/events that happened along the way that didn't get settled, mentioned again, or resolved. Since this is a series, it's common to have a thread or two of a continuing story line that runs the length of the series. There were a few of those, but there were also a couple smaller items that related solely to Lydia, Vaughn and the events of this book that just fizzled out without resolution or explanation. As for the insta-love between Lydia and Vaughn, it was a bit fast, but not completely unfathomable. My biggest complaint is a hasty decision made between Vaughn and Lydia that I can't explain without spoilers. Some will think it was a responsible decision, while I found it to be highly irresponsible and the biggest reason I can't go up to a solid 4 stars.

The kind of Love that catches you unexpectedly and never lets go.
I bought this amazing book on amazon last month and I couldn't wait to get started with it![...] I LOVE kylie Scott books; the male characters always seem to be kind of womanizers but have a pure heart within that just needs the right woman to awaken it.Then they become this AMAZING men, with so much love for their woman that they just can’t leave them alone. Yeah obsessive but in a good way. This book is no exception, Vaughan is so perfect, he is funny and sexy and since they meet they can’t seem to be apart; it’s like they were meant for each other, and this crazy circumstances put them in the perfect time and place.I loved the “meet cute” they shared, the whole shower incident was perfection!Since the moment we meet these characters we just know they are meant to be together, they have this perfect chemistry that warms up the place with just one shared look.I’m not even going to get into the sex scenes … WOW, just crazy good!Overall, a beautiful fun story, we also get to meet some new characters that have so much potential, I can’t wait to read their stories.

Another outstanding series for Kylie Scott.
The beginning of this book had me jumping right into the action of Lydia’s life. It was so good I knew that the book was going to be near impossible to put down. And it was. I read Dirty in one sitting, staying up far too late to finish it. I absolutely love Lydia and Vaughn. They were hilarious together, yet the affection they showed each other and the chemistry they had with each other overshadowed the witty banter between them. I knew because of the Stage Dive books that I was going to love Vaughn’s book and he’s even better here than he was there. This guy…of course I’m adding him to my book boyfriend list. And Lydia goes straight on my ladies I wish were my friends list. The rest of the cast of characters were interesting too. Oh boy is there a lot of drama and I can’t wait to read more of the series to see how it all plays out. I just know that the Dive Bar series is going to be a new favorite of mine.
