I think i found a solution
Well after reading reviews,I reluctantly purchased a 9 shirt,which is a 3x.If this was a Ralph Lauren I could have gotten away with a 2x.Every review either stated that the shirt was ok until washed or ran small.So I purchased this 3x and it fit and wore great,me being a short and stocky fellow.Instead of me washing it I will have it dry cleaned.

Based on other's comments I ordered one size bigger than needed (ordered a 3XL) I received a 4XL in error and it was still way too small.
