BirkenstockMen's Milano Slingback Sandals

I found the size exactly right for my feet. The material is soft and supple, and does not rub. HOWEVER, I am having a time getting used to the contoured footbed. I wanted an arch support since I have flat feet, and they feel fine until I stand up and attempt to walk--it feels like I have a ledge under my arch, but it is smooth! I have tender, thin feet, so I know that I am part of the difficulty. The arch is right where I need it, and other reviews forewarned that one has to break them in. I've only had them a couple of weeks and can only wear them for a couple of hours at most right now. I will persevere, however, and plan on making these my all-the-time shoes except when wearing athletic shoes. Can no longer wear dress shoes. I know these are quality workmanship, and when my painful feet can adjust, I know they will help me keep my balance, give my feet the support needed, and will help me walk more than I can now.

I think the Birkenstocks are a well made shoe, but the comfort of them really depends on the user. I read so many reviews of people who absolutely love them, but for me they're okay, and not all I was hoping for. The really hard foot bed needs to fit your foot perfectly I think or the contours of it will begin to apply pressure to your foot in small areas which eventually begin to hurt. I wore mine every day for about 3 months to get them broken in and eventually gave up on them. Like I said, not a bad shoe, but with that super hard foot bed they better fit your foot exactly right.

These are my 5th or 6th pair of Birki's . Love them the sizing once you find yours doesn't change from model to model so its easy to order them on line. These are my new go to shoe dressy enough for a simple dinner out and yet I wear them everywhere. Started riding/commuting on my bike more and these are great. They even show off my hand knit socks beautifully!

I replace my Milanos every two years or so. I've worn this model for decades. This time I got a good deal on the black model. It's very obvious that the thickness of the leather is about one-half of those I bought two years ago. I'm not sure if it will make them stretch more easily, but I AM surprised. Time will tell...

I love the shoe but warn that they need breaking in. After a few weeks of blisters bad adjustment they are my favorite sandal. I have a narrow foot, and ordered the narrow size, but had to take them to a shoemaker. To add extra holes.

Overall I'm happy with the sandal. The only issue is I thought it was hard leather, such as what I had used before. These sandals are soft leather, very floppy, and though they are more comfortable right away they aren't as sturdy. There was no indication on the ad that there were differences in the type of leather used. Wish those specifics were made clearer.

I've had a pair of these for years. This purchase was to replace my last pair which was totally worn out. Then I found out you can have them repaired for about half the cost of a new pair, so now I had my old ones repaired to good-as-new condition. Now, I have TWO pairs, and very thankful to have them both. Unfortunately, I threw away a previous pair because I didn't know they were repairable. So remember, don't throw out your old Birkies. They are the best, they will last a long time, and you can keep them for a lifetime (give or take).

The strap's leather broke in both of them. That tells me that is a defective shoe. They usually are supposed to last except for thebottom and inside but never the strap. I am so disillusioned. :(

I had another pair different color so didn't have to worry about the fit.

I love my Birkies and have about a dozen pairs in many colours and designs. Needed a black pair for work (I'm a priest) so thought these looked kind of Jesus-y and serious! Comfy and feel like slippers within an hour or so. Quite a high arch support in this style, I think, but I need that.
