Believer's Bible Commentary: Second Edition

Easy to read, common sense outline. Very easy to follow along with bible reading.

I have used the two volume version of this work for 30 years, and was pleased to find it in one volume. I gave it as a gift. For the basic Bible scholar with little ability for deeper works, this commentary is a great basic volume.

I like the quick references and clarity of the explanations of scripture, references, and introductions of the Old and New Testaments. In addition, the Hebrew and Greek transliterations aide in decoding these two fundamental languages in which the Old and New Testaments were written.In summary this book will be a Great Investment for anyone who desires to gain an accurate understanding of God's Word, In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Written in easy reading style

It got delivered this afternoon. I immediately opened it to the 7th Chapter of Luke because it was the last chapter I had finished studying. I find the way it explains the scripture captivating. I’m going to thoroughly enjoy using this book!

This is a large commentary that really helps draw out the theological and practical lessons for day to day life. I use this for drawing out Jesus's commands and lessons in his parables and such. I Recommend this for anyone.

Great biblical reference that uses layman terms to help one comprehend the scripture.

This book is large and looks intimating, don't be discouraged. It reads really easily and provides great context and a deeper understanding of what you're reading in the Bible. It's been an excellent addition to my daily and family devotions.

There are many good things going for this book:1) thin opaque paper (similar to bible paper) keeps this voluminous book less than you expect. The font size and color is very readable (maybe a 8.5-9 not sure about it exactly).2) great smyth-sewn binding by Nelson. Nelson publishers have always had a thing about quality.3) The author and the editor are conservative in their approach. Even though it is a single volume, it has surprisingly elaborate exposition and necessary cultural background info.4) all the problem verses of the Bible are explained from multiple points of view with the bias towards the literal meaning and inerrancy of the scripture.5) All possible exodus routes are covered which is just one example of the quality of scholarship6) I have reason to believe that the Author royalties of this book goes towards evangelical causes.
