Easy Mount, Stunning Picture
I bought this TV on Prime Day 2017 for an amazing price, and couldn't be happier with the purchase. This TV replaced a 40" Sony 1080p model in my master bedroom. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the mounting bracket locations on this TV meant that I could leave the mount for the 40" TV exactly where it was and have the top of this TV be less than an inch higher than the previous model. I also love the thin bezel and the 4K picture quality is stunning. My biggest surprise was how BRIGHT the screen was for a bedroom, I had to adjust the screen settings a bit so that scenes with white backgrounds aren't quite so jarring late at night, but in any other room this wouldn't be an issue. The Android TV features are also a lot of fun to play with. Sony knows how to keep me coming back to their TV lineup.

It may sound crazy to say that I'm glad my other TV went out but ironically that is exactly how I feel because now I have my Sony and it is fantastic. The picture is so vivid I feel like the people on the set can reach out and shake my hand. My best friend is tired of me gloating about it and he's only been listening to me for a week.Along with my 5.1 surround sound system there is no reason for me to go to the theatre because the only thing they have over me is the size of the room the movie is shown in. Its already been about 4 years since I've gone to the movies and I can tell you right now that its going to be quite some time before I go again. Also, coupled with my PS4 it is simply a joy playing video games now because of the awesome clarity. Good job Sony!Thank you for taking the time to read this review and please feel free to publish it.

TV itself has a great picture. Some of the functions are kinda of glitchy.*Note firmware was updated before I did anything else going forward*1. Remote voice control button on Android app is slow and doesn't always work.2. Picture quality was good.3. Netflix app refused to play shows the first time I launched it. It started working fine after Netflix was closed and launched about 3 times.4. The play store is setup to auto-update apps at any time. It has yet to update any of them, but says that they are up to date. In order to cast to this TV I had to manually update Google Cast Receiver in the Play store. I also had to manually update Netflix.I'm keeping this TV because I'm very good with technology so I know my way around software and hardware. My career is in Information Technology.I would not recommend this TV to anyone who is not confident with self trouble-shooting, and updating software and running through menus. You will want to send it back or you be asking your kids to set it up.*My number one gripe about this TV*Sony Support goes by the book to a T. They will not go out of their way to assist you at all. I called them about the lack of Voice Commander on the Remote. I was told me that the TV doesn't come with a voice capable remote, and that I could buy the Remote with Voice Commander if I wanted. After I told them that it isn't right to market the TV with Android TV Features, and not make it obvious that the additional remote is a requirement to use Voice Commands was false advertisement. They of course said its not because it was listed as an additional accessory.Nice Sony. Thanks for just hoping your customer's won't notice, or are completely content with buying additional accessories after discovering that one of the TV's best features can't be used directly after purchasing. They refused to allow me to talk to a supervisor, but insisted that the supervisor would tell me the same thing. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!The first person I spoke with called himself Henry. Henry would not give me his identification number. This TV comes with a RMT-TX200U Remote Control. This TV is voice controlled, and is one of the selling features along with google casting etc.Sony does not provide a Remote with Voice capability. The remote that has a microphone built in with a voice button has to be bought separately. This is not written in Amazon's description that I could find, and no were that is obvious to the buyer does it say that Voice Command will not work without a Voice Command capable remote.Sony would not help me at all. They said if you want to use it buy the remote.Lucky for me that the app for Android phone's allow me to use Voice Commander via the phone. So what is the point of Sony withholding the remote?? They are not keeping the majority in today society from using the feature! Money is what Sony was hoping to get. What a joke. I'm a little upset that a I paid $500 USD for a TV that was originally $800 USD before Prime Day, and it isn't equipped with a remote that allows me to use the features. The worst part is that its not clear that the TV doesn't have a Microphone built in. YOU HAVE TO PURCHASE THE REMOTE OR HAVE AN ANDROID PHONE.I'm disappointed in Sony who used to be such a reputable company.

4K comes to your living room at an affordable price
This was a Cyber Monday purchase for me, thanks to the fact that my trusty 43" 1080i *yup, i not p) plasma just isn't cutting it anymore. That old faithful lasted for the best part of a decade, but with 4K Ultra here, I really wanted to upgrade. To be clear, in order to play 4K discs, I also had to invest in a 4K player and a suitable HDMI cable, which added another $300 to the price tag, but it was money well spent. The image is incredibly clear; when watching "The Martian" in 4K, it seems as if every single grain of sand is visible to the eye. I'll be purchasing as many future discs in 4K as I can.The TV itself worked perfectly out of the box. It was easy to attach to its stand and connect up, being significantly lighter than my last TV. There are plenty of HDMI connectors, although be aware that only two of them (#2 and #3) will accept 4K input, which is more than sufficient. Setup was painless, taking less than twenty minutes until the device was up and running. Blu Rays and 1080p Netflix/Amazon streaming movies and TV shows are clear and crisp, making the TV a joy to watch. The remote is simple and intuitive, and controls my Blu Ray player should I choose to do so.If This TV has a weakness, it is probably the speakers. They're by no means bad, but they're also a little on the tinny side. A surround sound setup will be my next purchase, to redress that issue.I have no hesitation at recommending this unit.

I love the Sony Bravia 55" television
I love the Sony Bravia 55" television. I have had one before, I think it was 7 or 8 years old. It was CONSTANTLY on. If I wasn't watching t.v. someone else was. The poor television was on about 18 hrs. per day and it lasted 8 yrs.! I think that's pretty good. Within the past year, the vertical hold was apparently wearing out. I saw lines in it. Before that, the picture was awesome and SO clear. I knew it was time to buy a new television and SOON. So, I got to looking around for another Sony Bravia. I didn't know if I could afford a new one but I bought the 2016 model and I have been watching it for the past 2 days. Again, I am happy to report, the television is crystal clear. The sounds quality is great. The only problem is that I still can't find anything worth watching on the television but that's not the t'v's fault, is it? I can faithfully and personally recommend this television.
