MEATER Up to 33 Feet Original True Wireless Smart Meat Thermometer for The Oven Grill Kitchen BBQ Smoker Rotisserie with Bluetooth and WiFi Digital Connectivity

I purchased the MEATER after watching Youtube videos on how to use my new Komodo style grill, where it was occasionally mentioned and recommended. The device and app are great. I love how when initiating a cook it steps you through the kind of protein and even the cut as well has how well you like it done. The app then calculates estimated cooking time and alerts you when there is five minutes remaining.I've gotten perfect results every time I use the MEATER. The biggest issue is when carving a roast it looks like someone put a bullet through it. Other probes where the electronics sit outside of the grill leave a hole a fraction of the size.Bluetooth range is acceptable with this model with a ceramic grill, where I can use the app anywhere in my kitchen or family room while the probe is outside in the grill. But with a metal top Weber gas grill I have to place my phone up against the glass on my kitchen window sill. The range is very much limited by the metal lid so I would purchase a MEATER with an extended range when using a gas grill.Pros: gives perfect results, great app with nice features, easy to useCons: leaves a large hole in the meat, Bluetooth range limited by metal grill lids

Early days - but I tried the first day right out of the box with a roasted chicken. Super easy to set up with the app (iPhone) and link to the cloud.I had seen a couple of reviews online about not getting alerts on the iOS product but I didn’t find that at all - it alerted perfectly and if you really are detail oriented you can track your cook progress with the graph feature.I think there may be a bit of restriction in distance from probe to phone if you are moving around allot but so far it has only been ‘out of range’ once and then sent an alert - however I was quite far from the probe....The suggestion from the manufacturer is to leave your main device closer to the probe and use your watch or another device (iPad etc) to see the progress. I can see how that may be difficult if you have one phone and no other paired devices to fall back on.All in all though, I find this design sleek and the device is VERY accurate in its readings. (Internal and ambient temps)Love that the back of the box it charges in when not in use is magnetized - you can pop it on the fridge so it is always handy!
