Excellent Know How book for Small Business owners
Very well written book! Surprising easy read, considering the subject matter. Author has a very easy-going style, yet this book is packed with information. Each chapter goes over basics from keeping things under physical lock and key, to protecting your network and even discusses Cyber insurance. The chapter explains in normal English, the whys and what happens with real world examples. Then the chapter goes over what you can do to prevent these threats. The how-to guides are divided into 3 steps that I like to think of what you can do immediately, what you should work on, what you can aspire to. The immediate solutions are relatively easy -we just need to do them! In this day of ransomware and remote break-ins - this information and the solutions are more needed than ever. Follow these steps and make potential hackers go to other businesses that haven't!

Must Read for any business owner - easy-to-read book on protecting your business
BYOC was eye-opening, informative, and filled with actionable steps. Some of these I've already applied and a laundry list of many I will going forward. As a brick and mortar store-owner, I'm so focused on on the happenings at the store. My focus is on securing physical files, our goods and merchandise, understanding how to appropriately manage employees, and satisfy customers. It's easy to get overwhelmed by what I may need to do for the security of the "invisible" (cyber security) but it is just as important.BYOC gave me many of these tools. There are "simple plans" in the book which were very helpful. Often I thought "okay you've convinced me this part of my business is broken, now just tell me what to do." Steps are very manageable and Mr. Bonney breaks down what I need to know and how to accomplish goals that will get the most value for my time. He focuses on the cyber-security pitfalls that are the most likely to actually affect real business owners and what to do to secure it. There were very creative ideas in there that I never thought of, but also ones that seem obvious after the fact. For example, one obvious one is having no group accounts - each person has their own accounts with their own passwords and permissions. This book should be on the selves of every household if you have a small business. At minimum, it can serve as a reference book because it is so well organized. At its best, you'll read the entire thing, come out with a manageable list of what to do to secure your business, and protect yourself from a disaster that could be around the corner.

Great book!
This is a great book and very timely. We have had massive wire fraud in the real estate industry with Realtor's emails getting hacked and people posing as the escrow company for buyers to wire funds into thinking they are wiring the real escrow company. Bill and I discussed this before he wrote this book. He's an extensive researcher and knows his stuff!
