Returned to Christ after 30 years
I read this book and returned to Christ after a 30 year absence. That was in 2012.I still haven't gone to church but I am now one with Christ; and knowing my father, I know who I am, truly.Understanding Christ is central, pivotal, to any understanding of oneself because the Christ event is inextricably entwined in our own evolution as human, so much so that really one cannot reach full humanity without some experience of the Christ impulse whether one recognizes and admits the fact or not. One needn't practice Christianity for His blood, Christ's blood is in the soil. Man is not a finished creation, neither is the universe complete; man, Earth, and the universe are a work in progress, continuously evolving. Christ's mission here was to tweak and advance the evolution of our species; His mission was to further the very survival of this planet and the human species that inhabit it. Christ's teaching is now (in these most troubled of times) revealing itself more deeply. In Steiner's able hands Christ's teachings are shown to be not just surface platitudes of a simpler time; Steiner (a brilliant indefatigable spiritual investigator) shows Christ's teachings to be deeply powerful metaphysical acts performed by a most powerful God, intended to unfold and express over time through the entire evolution of the human race. Steiner is spiritually gifted, able to perceive the true meaning of cryptic metaphysics embedded in the gospels, the hidden meaning of Christ's death on the cross and the shedding of God's blood into Earth's soil (hidden because the deeper truths can only now be faced and employed with the current consciousness available to man), now when the teachings can be immensely helpful, if man will but use his mind wisely. Steiner communicates the truth of Our Lord in a manner that will pierce the shield of materialism and doubting egotism that hold the modern consciousness in a confused longing, an endless searching for we don't know what. We think we know about Christ, the whole story, a closed book...but Steiner reveals that re-examining the Christ Event and the Mystery of Golgotha rightly is necessary to any understanding of our own current times, to the moral struggles we modern people are facing collectively and as individuals.

Complete Garbage
This guy goes against all related Esoteric History-Jewish and Early Christian.....Regarding where he speaks of the ''Christ '' spirit descending into earth after Johns Baptism in the Jordan----non-sense....Baptism viewed as Yohannan and Yeshua viewed it was to strip off the garments of skin without shame. This was a completely mystical event where Yeshua actually became an Angelic Being...Baptism was viewed as a death and Rebirth into a Body of Light....Study Scholarly materials such as April DeConick, Mandaean literature, Nazaorean customs, Margaret Barker.....This guy making all this junk up...Oh and he also repeats over and over ''Jesus from Nazareth"......He was a "Nazarene"---NOT from any Nazareth.....Alot of coo-coo off the wall people out there making up non-sense.....DO NOT BUY THIS JUNK

While I find this book interesting so far (only about 1/4 of the way through it) I have a closer affinity with A Course in Mirac
I'm relatively new to the works of Steiner, having been turned on to him by a friend. While I find this book interesting so far (only about 1/4 of the way through it) I have a closer affinity with A Course in Miracles and A Course of Love. They dwell far less on the negative forces than does Steiner. I will continue reading Steiner until I either reject some of his ideas or find that I can integrate them with the other works that i'm interested in. There is no doubt though, that Steiner is a brilliant man.
