Great value for money

I'm done with this series! Yeah!I really liked the first volume; the second was so, so because the story didn't flow properly; the third one is equally so, so. The gap from volume two is too wide and also in this volume the plot doesn't flow that good.The overall plot was quite good and I really enjoyed reading this manga adaptation. I really like the two main characters, Wisty and Whit. Yeah, they could have had better names but one can't have it all. The secondary characters were good, as well. My favorite was probably Byron/Weasel.I've just finished a non-fiction account of the Shoah in Polish during WW2. And some of the things that the author described in the essay are present here as well, such as the despise for those who are not like you or don't think like you do. You know, killing people because you can do it and no one will ever hold you responsible for that.The art by Svetlana Čmakova is wonderful as usual.I'll read other adaptation by Yen Press: they're kind of good. ^__^

Good points: The art is fantastic, as is expected of the artist. In fact, she was the whole reason I picked up the series in the first place. ( you should check out her other works if you haven't already.) And Byron Swain, (my favorite character) has really developed into a well rounded character.Bad points: The plot felt very cardboard for the whole series, this volume included. (C'mon, an evil government order springs up overnight and starts a massive witchhunt?) Also, the ending felt very cheesy and utilized very poor storytelling. As a reader, I felt kind of insulted.And the characters were completely unrelatable to me. Whit is a two-dimensional so called jock hung up on his dead girlfriend, and Wisty is an ungrateful, bratty, savior of the the world cliche.In a nutshell: It's worth buying for the artist and if you like one of the characters. But don't go in expecting something genius.
