Q: what size glass is needed to complete the look?

I've used this on a number of glasses: 3" diameter x 9" high wine glass, a 2.5" diameter x 7" high water goblet, a 3" dia flute x 9.5 high and added water beads at the bottom of the glass for added weight & interest.

Q: It sounds like the shades need to be secured when assembled. Did anyone use a glue gun? What would people recommend to best secure them?

hi Cathleen, there are tabs that overlap where the shade comes together but i would recommend using a clearless tape to reinforce, a low heat glue gun might work but you would need to make sure the glue isnt too hot to melt the vellum.

Q: I noticed in one review it said the person receive a total of 36 lamp shades in one order. Is this correct or are there only 12 shades in an order?

Yes 12 shades come in one order I ordered several packages of 12.

Q: Has anyone tried them on a tall ice tea glass wanted to have a useful glass later for bride?

Hi Donna - I tried all sorts of glasses. The best , by far, were white wine glasses (the balloon on the RED was too large). I loved it because when I was done, I had a dozen new White Wine Glasses for my home. I went to Home Goods and got them at a great price. Two quick tips: 1) use a bit of scrap booking roll on tape when securing the sides closed. This way they wont come undone during your party. 2) I used the suggestion on the outside of the packaging and placed some of the decorative adhesive rhinestones on the outside - it really made them pretty. Good Luck!
