Perfect for the Connected Traveler
I travel fairly often and I like to keep my two smart phones (personal and business) and iPad Mini as charged as possible. Yes, it's sort of an obsession, but I like knowing I can connect when I need to. This is made all the more challenging in most airports, where access to 120v outlets is at a premium. The charging stations at some airports (e.g. LAX) attract travelers like a desert oasis, but there are never enough outlets to serve the people who need them, sometimes they're broken, and often they're not close to my gate. Wall outlets are practically non-existent at many large airports. For years I used a Callpod Fueltank Duo. For the most part, I liked it. However, Callpod uses a proprietary connector for its device cables, so you have to buy one of their cables for each type of device you have. At about $10 each, that added significantly to the Fueltank's cost. Plus, they're easy to lose (trust me), compounding the expense. Finally, you have to use Callpod's power brick to charge the Fueltank. Altogether it is a usable but clumsy system. When I lost a micro-USB cable for the second time I decided it was time to switch.Enter the IOGear 10K. No special AC adapter is needed; any USB brick will charge it. It comes with a micro-USB cable for charging the 10K itself or a compatible device, and its own USB brick, although most of us have several already. Likewise, any USB charging cable (micro, mini, Apple, Lightning) works with it to charge your devices. Plus, it has 1A and 2.1A outlets, so you can charge a phone and full-sized tablet at the same time. (My Mini will charge with either port.)It is bigger and heavier than a smartphone, so it's not a pocket item, but you wouldn't expect to do that anyway. It comes with a nice cloth bag. The 10K itself is very nicely constructed of sturdy plastic with one micro-USB input port and two output ports. There is a single button for getting an estimate of the amount of power left, using a four-bar LED display. I usually charge my phone while I'm flying, since I can't really use it. I have not discharged my phone to 20-30% and then timed how long it takes to recharge my phone, so I can't give you those estimates. It has easily topped off a half-discharged Droid Incredible 2 in about an hour. In terms of capacity, it can get me through a cross-country trip with a couple of connections and lots of phone use without difficulty. At just over $50, this is a must-have item for the frequent flyer. It's small, powerful, and convenient to charge and use.

The best travel battery pack available for all of your USB powered devices.
I spent several days late last year researching mobile batteries before a very serious expedition. In one month I was going to be visiting 8 countries over three continents and this would frequently involve going off-the-grid with uncertain access to mains power. I also had a smartphone, a tablet, a kindle and a camera that I needed to keep topped up throughout. After extensive research, I decided that the IOGear GMP10K GearPower was the best value option available with excellent feedback from across the internet. This is a great piece of equipment. The design is very simple and intuitive. It is easy for anyone to pick up with next-to-no explanation and get the job done. The build quality is solid and the weight is quite reasonable for what is effectively just a big battery. I have now used it to charge devices on planes, trains, monasteries and beaches and it works quickly, reliably and with minimal fuss. Best of all is that after charging roughly 4-6 devices it can be recharged itself in what seems like almost no time at all. It only takes about an hour to restore it to virtually full charge again. If I had to find just one piece of criticism for it, it would be that I would like to be able to keep the battery plugged into the wall to keep it topped up while it charged my devices but unfortunately this is not possible. The power station will not charge other devices while it is being charged itself. I would also like to be able to use the two USB sockets at the same time to charge two different devices simultaneously but alas this too was not possible. This device has proven to be one of the best purchases that I have ever made. It is truly a revelation and I couldn't be happier with the Gearpower. It does everything that I want it to do and I think that it is quite likely that it will continue to do so for years to come. As for my "criticism", while these features would be useful, they certainly do not undermine this device's usefulness. In short, this is a very solid piece of kit that I have shown and recommended to many of my friends and family already. I cannot imagine going on a long trip (or even a short trip) without it now. Keep up the good work IOGear.

My go-to portable power supply
I use this mostly as a remote power supply for mounting a GoPro in a difficult location where I can't get to the camera easily. This battery supply unit gives me more than enough power to get through a day.It is compact, easy to use and easy to check the power available. There are other units coming to market every other day, but this one really fit my needs. There are so many to chose from, what can you do to get a "good battery"? After reading some reviews and talking to friends, look to the manufacture. Iogear has been around for a while, they make good products and I am going to assume they stand behind them. I have never had an issue, so I can't attest to this, but they must be doing something right. One last note, and it might help some people. This unit looks good. Real good! If you are a person concerned with the ascetic look of a product, look to this one. Smooth glossy white finish with a sliver band around the middle, it looks the part of a smart, elegant tool. It even comes in a rich, cloth bag. Me? I use the little bag to hang the battery in, as it goes to work at the top of a lighting stand, to power said GoPro.At 11,000mAh, it does pack a serious punch. Two USB outlets give you either 1A or 2.1A of power.

Very useful.
I am an avid outdoorsman, and I use this all the time. It is so easy to charge my phone and other electronics. It needs to be charged about every week with light-medium use.
