Leupold RX-1200i TBR Compact Digital Laser Rangefinder with 119360

I've been using the RX-1200i with TBR for approximately 4 long Alabama deer seasons all on the same battery that came with it. I do take the battery out for storage and I think that has made a difference. It is accurate enough to get you on target, I measured with a 100' tape and it was always within 3-5 yards at distances 200yd and over. It ranges man sized targets and animals very well at 500-600 yards and will range large automobiles at 1100+

Well, it's missing a tripod socket. Other than that, it's nearly perfect.The general rule for rangefinders is that the practical maximum range is about half of what is claimed. I have managed readings out to about 750 yards in ideal conditions. In most conditions this will range out to around 500 yards reliably.Like most rangefinders, strong sunlight can wash out the IR laser and detector. Fields of prairie grass or open desert can pose a challenge. You'll have best luck ranging off of trees or shaded rocks.

I eyeballed almost every rangefinder available at a number of outdoor stores. I purchased this one because I think it stands out from the competition.Pros:- Best optics clarity I tested. Provides a bright, clear view.- Sharpest, easiest-to-view numbers on the display. The red LCD digits are crisp and easy to view in different lighting conditions (especially full sunlight) as compared to black or grey digits.- Attractive texture, fits well in the hand.- Comes with a case and lanyard that easily attaches to the chest strap on my backpack.- The eyecup does a nice job of blocking out ambient light.Cons:- One minor gripe. You have to push the button twice to get a range reading: once to turn it on and the second time to get the actual reading.It has lots of other features--many more than I will ever use--but the optics clarity and the *red* LCD digits are the primary characteristics that sold it for me.

Won't pick up an 18" steel AR 500 gong painted bright white at 750 yards. Don't see it ranging deer amount to 800 as claimed. However the TBR is great when ranging closer targets with decline or inclines. The caliber settings for bullet grain weight could be a little better. Haven't tried it with my bow yet. But the small design is perfect for a pocket in the drag bag with your F-class dope book. Look for small tripod to steady ranger for more accurate readings.

Worked as advertised, this is my first rangefinder so I don't have much experience to compare it to but i found the continuous ranging feature very useful on a recent hunt in MT. The greatest distance I was able to range was about 980yds and the the farthest out for a deer was over 500yds

The construction is very nice, solid. Nothing about it feels cheaply made. Clarity of the glass is great. Very easy to learn the menus and make adjustments to. My first one so comparing features I can't do. The bullet drop function matches numbers from websites like Hornady ballistic calculators. At least get you with in a 2 moa shot at 500yrd. Have not proved that yet.Glad I bought it.

Great range finder, its a must have tool for hunting and/or shooting. Very clear optics. Love the 6 time magnification. The red display is easily seen in all lights. Much smaller than the bushnell. The finder and its case easily fits in my pocket. Glad i spent the extra money to get the leupold. Fast and on time shipping. Would definitely buy again.

Took a while to get it set up -- not all items on menu intuitive. But in the end works well.
