Needs English hardcover or a omnibus
Really disappointed these only come in hardcover in French. Or why doesn't zenescope give us a omnibus of this series? Oh well...still a great take on the Alice in wonderland series. Would love to see these be made into animated features.

Pretty Good Comic
Think I liked the early ones better. I'm kind of new to this semi-adult comic world and so far have liked much of what I've read, but may be rapidly reaching a point of diminishing returns. We'll see.

Wonderland was good story keep up.
I like how survival and how’s do good and evil between of cards. More of queenly.Nothing wrong or dislike.Shape, drawing talent is amazing!

All the madness
Very dark. Although it is a true Alice in Wonderland story. Modern and made to imply to adults. Very enjoyable and reminds me a lot of the video game Alice the Madness returns. The Madness of the way a mind things and can be influenced by others. Will be getting the next one.

There was a little damage on the spine but it was worth it. I haven’t been able to find Volume 1 anywhere else.

You Can Run, But You Can't Hide
First, a little background. We start with "Grimm Fairy Tales" in 2005. The Wonderland series is a spin-off from that and is based, as you might imagine, on "Alice in Wonderland". Consider only the trade paperback collections. We start with "Return to Wonderland". Then the three part prequel, "Tales From Wonderland". Then, "Beyond Wonderland", the sequel to "Return to Wonderland". Then you get "Escape From Wonderland" and "Tales From Wonderland Volume 2". There is a "Wonderland Annual 2009: House of Liddle" and then "Alice in Wonderland", (from 2012). That brings us up to this "Wonderland Volume 1"). Now, some of the books deal with young Alice in Wonderland. Some of the later books deal with now-insane Alice's daughter Calie, (an anagram for Alice). This book deals with a now grown up Calie, who is also pretty close to the edge, who is trying to protect her daughter, Violet, from becoming aware of the Wonderland past and being ensnared by and drawn into the madness of Wonderland. So, what we get are two parallel stories. ALERT TO POSSIBLE MILD SPOILERS. There is all manner of madness and conflict breaking out in Wonderland, most of it centered around dueling power hungry queens, (Queen of Spades and Queen of Hearts). That's story one. Interspersed through that is story two. Hatter is trying to get his hands on Violet while Calie is trying to keep Violet safe here on normal Earth. Violet is being made crazy by her over-protective mother; Calie is going mad from the pressure of protecting Violet, and all of that drama is about to come to a violent head. Here's my bottom line. If you have following this series you have to have this volume, and that's all there is to it. If you are new to this series, this probably isn't the place to begin. Actually, because of the focus on the Queens in Wonderland and the protecting of Violet on Earth, there isn't a lot of Wonderland on display. I'd suggest going back to earlier volumes that feature the Jabberwocky, Cheshire Cat, Mad Hatter, Caterpillar and Queen of Hearts. That will get you much more deeply into the Wonderlandness of this series. That said, this is certainly a well done and admirable addition to the overall series, and while it has a little more Calie and Violet hiding out than I really needed, it has the same charms as its predecessor. So, enjoy. Please note that I received a free advance ecopy of this book in exchange for a candid review. Apart from that I have no connection at all to the author or the publisher of this book.

Surprisingly good
Given the covers and it’s Zenescope I expected something more lurid but this is pretty decent. A coherent story and women with their own agency.

Twin peaks on steroids
Now this is good level of psycho. It's grim and fast paced like twin peaks on steroids. The story takes turns in real life and the wonderland and sometimes !mixes it together. There was some mysteries left unsolved but I guess they will come to those later.

Wonderland.
Een prachtig en goed verhaal met uitstekende tekeningen van de Grimm Fairy Tales series. Uitgever Zenenscope op zijn best, zoals al zijn comics en strips.

Disappointment
Sadly, this was a big disappointment. I started off really enjoying the series, but it since disintegrated into boring pulp. The lameness of the story matched the vapidity of the artwork. Sorry, not happy.
