The Specialist (Norcross Security Book 3)

I read nearly all of Anna Hackett's books and really like her writing style. The books are a lot shorter than some of similar authors but she always manages to pack a good storyline and lots of interesting characters into it. You never feel the book is missing something.The Specialist is - for me - unfortunately a bit too much contemporary "Boy employs girl, discovers she has a problem and goes on to solve it". Harper is a problem solver and this lands her into trouble when her father has problems. But Ethan just storms in, takes over and she runs with it with minimal protest. There are times when he just behaves like an neanderthal claiming his prize.These books have to be read in order as there are too many side characters appearing. They do fit in and give teasers for upcoming stories though. And the family dynamic is written really great.For me it is a case of "If only there would be more action and less talk". But it is not stopping me from reading the author again, it is just a different style she does. But this one may not end up on my re-read list so soon.

I really want to say I loved this book, but there was a lot of it, that left me feeling like it didn’t fulfil its potential.Harlow goes to work for Easton as a temporary assignment to cover for his usual assistant. Harlow’s dad has some really serious debt to a really bad man, when he can’t pay it back he gambles and gets into financial difficulties with someone else. Easton tries to help her but she’s stubborn and independent.I really did love both of their characters, she was strong but not afraid to accept help in the end. He was hot,romantic and sexy.So why didn’t I love it?She is punched in the stomach and has sex later and there’s no pain! She’s hit in cheek twice and is fine! She’s shot, admittedly it was a nick but she’s fine again! It just wouldn’t happen! After that many injuries she would be in pain and not jumping on him to have rampant sex! It just ruined the fantasy.Having said that, it’s amazing to read an author who writes about the messy bits of sex without a condom. 👏👏

Harlow Carlson is temporarily working for Easton Norcross as an Admin Assistant while his regular secretary is on leave, when she is contacted by her father. Meeting him quickly, she learns that he has money trouble.Returning to the office, Easton sees her nervousness. Harlow is both angry and grateful of his summons from the previous evening, calling her back to work for a file he needed for an early appointment.Throw in a disastrous businessmen father, two questionable lenders and one very large sum of money into the mix and trouble starts. How everything is sorted out is par for the course , before all ends well.

Or maybe for Harlow they are very, very good decisions because Easton needs her as much as she needs him.It is awesome to see Easton, ex-special forces and a hardened business man, brought to his knees by Harlow, who wants nothing from him! Like all the Norcross siblings when he falls he falls hard and Harlow becomes his mission.I love this Norcross series, every book is packed with action, suspense, passion, danger and lots of dirty lovin' Norcross style...yum!I read this on Kindle Unlimited.

Once again, Anna Hackett triumphs. Easton and Harlow's story was everything I expected from this sensational writer. Full of excitement , daring car chases, hot romance and fast-paced action ...everything to keep a reader thoroughly captured from begining to end. Simply can't wait for the next adventure.

Harlow and Easton is another home run by Anna, great characters, amazing story and brilliantly written. Loved how strong Harlow was and how we saw Easton softer side with her and his family. Love this entire series and cannot wait for the next installment. Anna is by far one of the best authors out there.

Love these rugged alpha males who know how to look after a woman and protect her when she needs it, but also listens, great story, great series
