The adapter functioned as described. I had no issues with the adapter. I connected my laptop to my vga projector with vga cables that I had & with an HDMI cable that I had as well. I ran a dvd on an external dvd player that I also had & everything worked as described. I recommend this adapter to anyone wanting to connect their laptop to a vga projector & play a movie or any other kind of dvd and project it to a screen.

Perfect cable transfer from HSMI to an older VGA 24" monitor. Didn't need audio since I have separate speakers and a headphone jack.

Upon receiving my new adapter, I was excited to streamline our backyard movie night. No more having to lug out my old laptop to connect with a vga cable to my projector!! (My projector is older and has no hdmi. hence the need for this adapter). After removing the adapter from the box and attempting to read the poorly translated instructions, I felt like I was ready to go. Set up my projector, screen, and speakers. The adapter is connected to the projector, the fire stick to the adapter, power everything on and... Format Unsupported! Wait, what!? Ok, now comes the trouble shooting. Long story short, after re-reading the instructions and trying a few different things we gave up on it for the night and went back to the old setup. The next morning, I'm getting ready to box the unit back up and send it back but wanted to give it one more try as I really want it to work. This time I have the idea to make sure my fire stick video output setting are manually set. After setting my video output display to 720 @ 60hz as my projector has a maximum resolution of 800 x 600. So I reconnect everything and VIOLA!! It works!! So as it's working and I test a few shows I decide to then change my video output settings to "AUTO" again, thinking that I'd like to have the best picture possible. After changing it back to AUTO, the picture disappears again and "Format Unsupported" displays again. Now I'm not certain if this issue is caused by my projector or the adapter (I'm guessing projector). What I do know is that if you're having an issue with a fire stick, try to set your video output to 720 @ 60hz and give it another go. It might just be the fix you need. I'm looking forward to using this more than 2-3 times as I've seen several reviews stating that the longevity of the adapter is questionable.

Plug & play, works as it should.

I bought one and have been using it daily for 36 days and it just stopped working. Yesterday, the monitor wouldn't turn on and after restarting and unplugging/replugging a few times, the monitor came on but everything was blue. Today it won't turn on no matter what I try, I have tested my hdmi cable and both ports and everything works until i try using the adapter again. I tried to find a better adapter but it seems like there are 1200 different companies all selling this exact same adapter with a different brand name printed on the outside so i ended up buying another one from this company again. Figured there is no point buying from some other company when they are all the exact same adapter. Really unhappy with my purchase and really unhappy that I had to buy another one that is likely to break eventually as well.

I wanted to use a raspberry pi 5 with an old vga monitor. This worked with no hitches, I had a picture immediately. It comes with the usb cable required to power the unit, I used one of the pi 5 ports to run it. It also has a 3.5mm headphone jack if you want to listen to the hdmi audio as well.

We’ve had this adapter for less than a month and the audio has quit working. We used the hdmi adapter to plug a roku in to our projector and it was working great. The video still works, however all we hear from the audio port is static. We’ve tested the aux cord and it works just fine plugged into anything else. We restarted and factory restarted the roku and every time, the video is fine, however the audio will not work. Very disappointed with this product. We’ve only used the projector a handful of times and for the audio to quit within less than a month, is frustrating to say the least. Looks like we purchased a lemon.Update: The customer service promptly delivered a new device to me. It has been working well like the first one did, however we will see over time how well the longevity is.
