Briggs & Stratton 273280S Cylinder Head Gasket, Grey

Worked great for my Craftsman Lawn Tractor (Over 15 years old). I went on searspartsdirect.com and found the part and Amazon (through equipatron) had it cheaper and faster delivery. It came quick very quick from the seller and way ahead of schedule. There was a bend in it (packaging was really poor for what this item is and this probably happened during shipping).I emailed equipatron with my order info and explained the problem. They handled it quick and efficiently (less than a day response time) and sent me a new one at their cost and added a cardboard sheet to the package to hold it rigid. I'm not sure why they wouldn't normally do this for any gasket, but I was glad that the person obviously read and understood my email and then corrected it which is always nice to see from a customer service person.With all this trouble, the 2nd gasket still arrived within Amazon's estimated arrival time for the 1st order. For the excellence in customer service I would give the seller equipatron 5 stars. Though you could argue they should have gone down a star for not packaging it properly the first time. As far as the gasket it was OEM and (the 2nd one) was in perfect condition and only time will tell if this truly is a good gasket. My expectation is for this gasket to last at least 10 years. As of now it's 5 stars.

First gasket came damaged and was broken. Amazon sent new one out immediately and was packed way nicer and arrived perfect

Buy it nice or buy it twice, I bought a aftermarket gasket and it only lasted one mow. I had to replace it again and I bought this one. Better quality and it’s still working.

When I received the new head gasket, it was in the same box as the new muffler...with no packing material. Therefore, the gasket was bent, creased, and deformed. A simple piece of cardboard taped to it would have prevented this. As I was rather desperate to get my yard mowed, I sprayed a metallic gasket dressing on it and hoped for the Best. Since I had also lapped the valves, I immediately noticed a improvement in compression...from ~50 PSI to ~75 PSI...however, the mower still won't start. I suspected the coil...replaced it...the sparkplug...replaced it...removed flywheel and visually confirmed key is not sheared...will not start...cleaned carburetor...will 'pop' with choke on, but not start...checked/adjusted OHV 'valve lash'...still not starting...next up, new carburetor under the FAST Principle...however, not even starter fluid will do more then get it to 'pop' when cranking...considering opening up the engine case and checking internals such as valve timing cam...the whole thing is 'strange', as it will push my finger off the spark plug hole when cranking...and I can visually confirm spark by grounding the new plug to the case and turning it over. I even disconnected the 'kill wire' from the new coil...still no start. Grrr...

This gasket arrived wrinkled and questionable looking, far from the pristine gasket shown in the picture. Nevertheless I installed it and it does appear to have sealed properly without any leaks.

While shredding leaves the head gasket on my lawn tractor blew out. Available and delivered in two days from Amazon and I replace it the same day. Works great. I'm concerned that the package was not rigid and the head gasket arrived with two fold creases in it. Although it works fine I am concerned that it will be two weak spots in the gasket for failure. I would suggest a rigid backing in the packaging to prevent folding.

Came in briggs and stratton seal plastic bag and was shipped in a box (there were a lot of complaints of them just shipping in bag and the gasket getting bent) no problem here

Perfect fit for 16 hp Vangaurd single cylinder.

Perfect fit. Works like a charm. Fit the Briggs 14.5hp motor. Only issue is that it was bent and had some creases, but it doesn’t seem to have issues, so far.
