Q: Does this work on the carpet smoothly?

It would work on very thin carpet but for most carpets, no, it would not work.

Q: I am placing a 600 lb range on 4 of these. Has anyone rolled this much weight across hardwood floors and does it leave any marks/indentation??

i use it on 400 pounds and i roll over a carpet not a problem on the carpet
