This product comes in two boxes, all parts in the box are well identified and well protected. When you take the parts out, keep the material that is covering the back of the bed and the front panel of the trundle, I'll explain later in the review. I put this day bed together by myself, although at times during the process I wished I had a second pair of hands. If you are putting it together by yourself...it takes time, patience, common sense and some imagination to put it together.As I said all parts come well identified, familiarize with the parts and the instruction manual before you begin. Make sure you are putting this bed together in the place where it will reside since, after all, it is a the size of a twin bed and it is heavy. Fallow the instructions step by step, until you get to pages 10 and 11, DO NOT tighten those brackets all the way in, leave them somewhat loose! This will save you a lot of frustrations, trust me. You'll see when you get to page 14 and this little detail will make a lot of sense. Once there and you have hung all the sides, then you can tighten all the bolts. I used a level to make sure the bed frame was completely​ even before doing the final tightening. Don't install the back cross bar (page 16) until you have the trundle put together and it is under the bed. Make sure the front​ is flush with the top, then use washers (not included) when you attach the back bar so the bar doesn't push the trundle out and it stays flush with the front top of the bed.Now, before you set your mattress on the bed, consider this; are you going to use this day bed on a regular basis? Daily basis? Or are you just going to use it on rare occasions? If you are going to use this day bed on regular or daily basis I would encourage you to set a 1/2" thick panel of composite, particle or just plywood board on top of the planks, keep in mind that all mattresses are really made for even flat surfaces. Doing this will stretch the longevity of the mattress as well. Remember the cover material I told you to keep at the beginning of this review? This is where it comes in handy. If you are going to use a panel on top of the planks that material will be enough to cover that panel, I stapled mine with a floor stapler. By the way, the panel I used I bought it at HD for only $16.00 and included the cut to size (73" X 39 1/4") and the mattress I'm using is an 8" LinenSpa (Amazon).I hope this review/explanation is helpful.No regrets and very, very happy with the product!

Wow 😯 how I love ❤️ this Daybed/Sofa. It’s very roomy love the high back and soft material it’s comfortable to sit on and lay down on with the Zinus 8” Green Tea Foam Mattress I put on top of it that I bought here on Amazon too. This was my solution for having a sofa 🛋 to sit on and a bed 🛌 for my grandson to sleep 😴 on when he stays over and a trundle bed 🛌 underneath for my granddaughter too, to sleep 😴 on, after so much searching here on Amazon glad I came upon this item I wish it was in black but still all-in-all the brown is beautiful and it actually looks black in different lighting. My 2 son’s built it for me was easy and didn’t take much time. Great value, price and quality. It’s a bit larger than I expected, but it was easy to put together (I did it by myself). It is a bit cumbersome to move (when rearranging furniture in my kid’s room) because of its size, but I can do it by myself easily (it’s not all that heavy). The trundle is better for children (because of the wheels...the metal bar bends where the wheels are screwed in). The wooden slats look like they’d break easily, but they’re really sturdy. So far none of them have broken. It’s a beautiful piece of furniture, and apart from it being a bit bigger than I expected, it’s perfect.

I purchased this daybed for my living room in lieu of a new couch. It will serve as an extra bed for visitors or where nursing staff can stay when needed to care for a daughter living with disability.It looks smart and blends in well with the décor of my living room. Although it is not leather, it looks just like it and is made of quality materials. I'm sure it will last for years.Putting it together was easy, but may prove to be harder for those who have trouble in this area. (I have had decades of experience putting together contraptions of all kinds with brochures written poorly in several languages, lol!)Lastly, this bed is a steal! I purchased mine at a total of 41% discount...and that included a trundle! Best deal I've gotten in awhile!

Love this! We will have a smaller bedroom in our basement when we finish it. Therefore, we are going to use this as a bed and a couch. The upholstery looks wonderful and is a dark brown.There are however a few things that I don't like.1. It wasn't sturdy until we put a piece of plywood under the planks. This made the world of difference.2. The trundle doesn't stay pushed in all the way.3. One of the trundle wheels is already bent and therefore makes pulling it out or pushing it in more difficult.4. A twin mattress on the top is a bit too small (not deep enough). We remedied this my placing big pillows on the back.**Update**For those of you considering mattress options...We used a nice Denver Mattress twin pillow top for the top (75inx38in). We then purchased a cheaper 7" foam mattress for the bottom trundle.
