I had such high hopes for this beautiful candle. I heard so many positive reviews about the scent Gilded Balsam Birch and couldn’t wait to try it. So I added the room spray and candle to my Amazon cart and checked out. Upon arrival, I carefully opened the beautiful packaging, pulled out a lovely and well made candle and took a sniff...only to smell what I can describe as a strong bug spray fragrance. Huh? That’s not what I was expecting. So I set it aside and figured it needed to warm up from being in the cold. The next day I smelled it again. Gag! Even worse. Like warm bug spray. I was so disappointed. I was expecting a sweet, spicy and slightly earthy fragrance, not bug spray perfume. (I also smelled the room spray at this point to see if it was just the candle; nope.) I’m not sure how this particular scent gets so many positive reviews but it’s definitely not something that my olfactory receptors can handle. So there it is, Gilded Balsam Birch. It’s a no for me.

This candle has absolutely ZERO scent! Not even a hint! I’ve let it burn for over 2 hours hoping it would prove itself and it never did. Very upset considering it was around $20. Will not purchase again!

It wasn't scented at all, I love the room spray so much that I was hoping the candle would smell the same but it barely has any scent at all. Don't waste your money.

I’m willing to splurge a bit and pay good money for quality candles. This one is worth the splurge! The fragrance out of the box just made me proud. The only other thing to see (as I use it more often) is the wick life.

I love this scent I have it in the laundry for my towels and the spray for the house so I thought I would snag a few candles the scent isn’t strong and they are over priced for the size and the aroma area they cover.
