This filter is more expensive than others but is rated to last 6 months. If that is accurate, the price seems alright considering the alternatives.Changing out the first filter on my fridge was painful. However, it is relatively easy to put the new one in. You are supposed to flush out a couple gallons of water before you start using it. If you notice particulates in the water, it's possible you haven't flushed enough water through the filter.Taste has been great. I was surprised to notice neutral flavor in the water that came out. Did not have any tap water taste to it. This is a great replacement to using water bottles. Average human drinks 8 cups of water per day. If you only drink bottled water, you are spending around $18 a month, which translates to over $100 for 6 months (Yes, I did the math lol). Since this water filter costs around $50, you are definitely getting your money's worth.Overall, while this filter is more expensive than others, it does a great job and for a long period of time.

There is a degree of relief in knowing that you have done what you can to improve the quality of the water that you are drinking. I know our Town 'has good tap water', so they tell us, but taking extra steps to try to improve it is never a bad thing. It is cheaper to buy a good water filter for our refrigerator, than it is to buy bottled water and deal with the plastic bottles. I am happy with it and have zero complaints.Thx for reading!

Let's face it, no one LOVES when the 6-month mark is up and you've got to re-purchase your fridge water filter but it's a small price to pay for filtered, clean, and safe water.We found it was more cost-effective to order this filter on Amazon rather than pick it up at our local hardware store.
