Awesome!
Purchased to add some stain resistance to my son's new white Vans shoes. It didn't change the color of the canvas. The texture became slightly glossier but that was the only change. Smell was minimal, I was able to apply it indoors on a rainy day. Two coats, and now liquids just run right off the surface. Thank you, Nikwax!

Don't expect to waterproof UNWAXED cotton.
I'm going to leave a 5 star review even though this didn't work out for me.The image is what the jacket looks like after pouring water on and rubbing it off with paper towel. Water resistance certainly increased by a lot.Don't expect to waterproof an unwaxed cotton jacket. You are already starting from a weak position. There's a lot of surface area to cover, it will take you a while. It's hard to tell which areas have more wax than others.I've used 2/3 of the 300ml bottle, and I'm sure using the last 1/3 won't give me a huge waterproofing boost(unless this was already waxed cotton. If you want to wax your clothes, go online for the recipe for that, this is not the all in 1 solution/replacement for that)I was sent the Neutral spray, not the 'for Green cotton'. It dried clear. My jacket was more water resistant(not waterproof), but it was also heavier. And probably less breathable than before. Breathability is important to staying warm because it lets vapor out(which you need). So all in all I spent $20 and a bunch of time rubbing in the solution.(do it outside, not inside where the smell will linger. Let dry outside)And now I'm buying a cheap waterproof rain jacket for $30 on Amazon instead.I'm sure this product works for already WAXED COTTON. But it was unable to turn my cotton coated down jacket into a waterproof ski jacket. Now you know. (If you're wondering why I'd even try this, one of the other reviewers said that Nikwax customer service told them this product is for unwaxed cotton. ???? Yeah, those ppl don't know what they're talking about.)

Good Stuff.
Good Stuff....I've used it on G1000 and it works well. Proofed the entire jacket with one bottle. One thing though.....I would use heavily in the most exposed zones and only lightly over the rest of the jacket....otherwise breathability could be an issue. Anyway, definitely buy some if you want to waterproof some cotton..

Try using an Iron - works wonders
Ok, so I have used this on a couple of different items and a couple of different ways;HEAT GUN METHOD: Filson lightweight dry cotton cruiser. First time I used a waterproof glove to rub it in and then heat gun and let it hang a few days = a nice result but had some of the funky odor (which I'm ok with) that did take awhile to fade. Used the jacket for 4 days straight in that wet Alaska weather and stayed dry the whole time.IRON METHOD; Today I did a refresh for winter, Sprayed it on in small sections, rubbed it in with the glove, and used a Iron on medium heat to bake it in = it's ready to wear and the patina finish looks amazing. For me the iron method worked much better than the heat gun, faster and much less after odor. Basically ready to wear no waiting. Your results may vary. I bought a cheap iron for 10 bucks to use on the jacket because some of the wax will build up in the steamer holes of the iron which could upset the other half. The other item I used it on a was pair of "waterproof" hiking shoes that started leaking through the membrane after the 2nd use and the return date had passed. Gave them two coats of this product = issue solved. Feet stay nice and dry, used a heat gun to bake it in coat.

Fast and easy
I was going to buy a can of wax to melt and redo my Barbour jacket but decided to get this product instead. It did my Barbour plus a old cotton bush pilot I own. I have tried out the Barbour in the rain with success but not the bush pilot jacket yet. Application was quick (spray and rub in with a cloth). I will probably buy this product again and so recommend it.
