Thought-provoking and timely insights on the state of the British legal system
I recently read ‘Fake Law: The Truth About Justice in an Age of Lies’ by The Secret Barrister. I was thoroughly impressed by the author’s thought-provoking and timely insights on the state of the British legal system. The book is a collection of essays exploring the many challenges and inequalities within the criminal justice system. It offers a compelling call to action for anyone who cares about justice and fairness.I found it insightful how the author delves into how the legal system is influenced by power and politics. The Secret Barrister offers a candid and critical look at the role of the media, the government, and other institutions in shaping how justice is administered. The book provides a valuable perspective on the many forces that can shape the outcome of a legal case.I highly recommend ‘Fake Law’ to anyone interested in the criminal justice system or for a provocative and timely read. The Secret Barrister is a talented writer and a passionate advocate, and this book is an important contribution to the ongoing conversation about justice and fairness in our society. Another masterpiece from The Secret Barrister
Having already scared the living daylights out of anyone with a brain with their first book, The Secret Barrister now forensically dismantles all those cosy little lies that we’ve been fed over the years about the law & how it works - or doesn’t.

Brilliantly stories told with crisp writing.. Must Read this book by all law students.
It does not matter where you are around the global this book is sure to add value. The writing is clear, crisp and engaging. The stories are told with affection and emotion. You will fall in love with each chapter and its objectives to make you think, ponder and evaluate what you read and hear over social media and the news reports. It's an eye-opening account of how confirmation bias leads us to make opinions irrationally and without considering the underlying evidence. It's such a beautifully written book that gently unravels each story and the purpose behind the law and how it should be applied.
