No, thank God! I wouldn't know where to put a head shot in zombie moss. It just holds moisture well, but doesn't show any signs of regrowth.

The green color you observe on spag moss is algae growth. The moss itself does not change color. If the conditions for algae are optimal, it will grow on the moss, yes.

Q: Is this good for adult tegus ?

I think it's good for all reptiles. I keep this is every tank I have. I don't know how much you would need for an adult sized enclosure, but it definitely helps with humidity.
