Not completely rugged?
Not bad. Fully functional, and fits my camera equipment hard case. In addition to traveling / commuting, I also wanted to use this primarily out ‘in the field’, trudging through mountains, trails, forests, etc. I think there’s even enough ‘play’ in the straps to try and add some additional, external pouches as well (water bottles, waist packs, med kits, etc), but I will need to play around with that. However, I don’t think the nylon materials are going to last long under these conditions. I can already tell any brushes with rocks, thorns, ‘butt-drags’ down steep inclines, etc. are going to snag and wear this material down. I read the description, but thought it was made of ‘sturdier stuff’, and took a chance on purchasing it. Again, it may be fine for the ‘daily commute’, but I ‘hope’ this lasts for my excursions off-grid. Some of my gear is somewhat weighty; having this fail out in the middle of nowhere would be a bummer.

Perfect companion for my luggage
Perfect!! I bought my family Tumi brand luggage’s and was disappointed to hear that the wheels on my Tumi will do me no good for the cobblestone streets in Europe. This was the perfect item and prevented me from buying a different set of luggage’s. It’s easy to use and does exactly what I wanted.

Not for travel carseat
This is a neat concept. I got it with the hopes of using it to carry a carseat -- the Cosco Scenera Next -- through the airport. Unfortunately, the carseat was too big (despite the fact that it's one of the smallest ones on the market) and not all of the straps would buckle around it. I wrestled with it for awhile trying to get it to work to no avail. Hopefully this helps the next parent!

a little expensive but so practical !
I had my first trip abroad in 4 years, just 5 days so I didn't want a big luggage but was worried that I would need to check in my luggage when coming bag because of the souvenir if the bag was too heavy so I had to go with my hard case luggage but it can be annoying to go around especially local bus in vietnam ( went to vietnam) so I bought this bag pack converter and damn i don't regret even if it's a bit pricy!I was able to walk around Da nang from the airport to the lake really easily (if you saw the street... rolling my hard case luggage even small would be a nightmare) to then the bus no issue :) and for going back, I had a normal backpack in my suitcase as I expected having more stuff when going back so I put the converter in the suitcase and it went on as check in luggage ~ so really, worked out perfectly like I expected

Its ok
I used this for a 2 week international trip to Italy where I thought it would be annoying to roll a suitcase in cobblestone streets. Yes, it did work, but there are a lot of caveats to consider. First and foremost, carrying a full suitcase on your back is heavy. (I only attempted this once on a 20 min walk and it was unpleasant. Especially the straps on my shoulders, dont do this with a tank top.). Its confusing to get on the suitcase, look at the pics on the listing for help. If you wanna still be able to use it as a rolling bag with the strap on, you’re gonna want to fix it to the front of your suitcase and tie up the straps so they dont drag. If you’re gonna put anything substantial in the pockets, you wont be able to fit the suitcase in an overhead bin on a plane. Lastly, I changed hotels 4 times so taking this thing on and off was annoying af. I was able to extend the top strap to full length and strap my rolled up jacket to the top of the suitcase so that was useful. Overall, not worth it.

So useful!
We purchased this to fit a travel car seat for our child. Instead of hauling an enormous and awkward backpack at the airport, we were able to comfortably carry it with this well designed backpack. I can also use this for other things, such as large Pelican cases for cameras or audio equipment. The pads and buckles are well made and I am highly impressed with this product!
