A Monster
I ordered the guitar using one day shipping so that I could avoid having it sit in the hot delivery truck for a couple of days, not that it really matters since guitars usually get shipped from elsewhere outside the U.S. or sit in a warehouse for awhile, but who cares. The guitar was packaged in the stock Schecter box with another foam reinforced Coffin box on the inside. The guitar was in perfect condition and looked far more amazing than the photos give it credit for, actually the guitar I received was a newer model of the Extreme Omen-7, so it has a matching body color head stock. I started playing it and it felt way lighter than I imagined it would, it is probably 2/3rds the weight of my Les Paul, which is a much smaller guitar. The neck of the guitar is wide and very smooth, this being my first seven string I had to modify some of my methods to adjust for the new spacing, etc. It really is remarkably easy to get used to actually. My primary goal for the purchase of this guitar was to be able to play massive drop tunings without having to permanently modify my six string, since I only own one. So far I am pleased.Concerns: The guitars are already set up by a technician at the factory but it is very likely that you will need to get it adjusted before you can really play it. I had horrible string buzz and when I tried to strum a lot it was remarkably stiff and kind of dead sounding. Turns out the neck was slightly back bowed, which was rectified with about 2 turns of the truss rod. ( I had someone at a shop do that so I didnt get over zealous of jack it up, and it was a bit better but I still wasnt satisfied. I check the string to fret spacing and saw that if I pushed down on say the 6th fret the string would touch all the way down the neck on the heavier strings. I raised the action on the heavier side about 3 turns so that there was a quarter space between the strings and frets and it completely fixed the problem. The guitar sounds like a million bucks and plays like a dream. You won't be disapointed with a guitar purchase from amazon. Just remember that you aren't buying the guitar from a brick and mortar store which would usually have checked and adjusted the guitar before they sell it. You will want to get it checked out and adjusted, which you should probably think to do anyway.

Better than more expensive competitors.
This axe is one good example of why you don't need expensive guitars. I simply can't find a single fault with it. It is beautifully finished (better looking than the online pictures), solid in construction, has excellent fret work, a fast flat comfortable neck, and good pickups for the price. You won't regret buying this beast on overdrive.

Great tones, very versatile in style.
I wasn't expecting this guitar to be as amazing as it has been so far. The appearance is great, shipped fine. The actual sounds from the guitar are awesome. It can play clean warm tones well and yet also handle a distortion and heavy low notes. I never owned a seven string before but I have been playing for the past 10 years and I feel like I have been missing out. I really like the weight of this guitar, it is well balanced, not too heavy or too light. That was one thing I didn't like about my Les Paul is for longer sessions it would really feel heavy on my leg.

Love this Guitar!
first time purchasing a 7 string and I love it! neck is great, all bindings are solid, finish is really better than I expected for the prices. definitely would recommend this to anyone wanting a solid playable out of the box guitar. mine came with ernie ball strings and very cool manufactured bone nut of some kind. Tone is really good. This one won't hang on the wall and collect dust that's for sure. If you're a beginner, it will grow on you for sure, don't be intimidated.

Best Budget guitar I have bought to date.
Solid construction, beautiful look and feel. Schecter factory set up was flawless out of the box and the quality and craftsmanship is superb for a below 500 dollar price point. I recommend anyone wanting a 7 string to look at this model or go up to the Elite.

Amazing guitar.. came with buzzing frets though.
The guitar is beautiful and sounds amazing but it was not set up well. The volume/tone knobs needed tightened, the fret board oiled, and the D string was buzzing on open and the first couple frets. Had to take it to a luthier.

Well worth it's price.
I've been wanting a seven string, but I'm not a tremolo bridge guy, more so with double locking trems. I found this and took a chance on it, and am glad I did, especially since I had nearly given up and was about to shop for a Carvin/Kiesel guitar, which would have cost far more than this (at least with the builds I was choosing).Truthfully, my biggest gripes here are the pickups and the tuners. The tuners do their job, but they seem a bit weak. I realize this is my first seven string, but I have multiple six string guitars, none have this issue. But again, they're holding, and can be easily replaced. The pickups are ok, and considering the price of this guitar, are just fine. I might replace them later on, since they are a bit harsh on clean, and can be harsh on overdriven/distorted tones if you don't take time to dial it out.Fit and finish are GREAT. The back of the neck has a satin finish, which I like best. The figured top looks beautiful, the fretwork on mine looks and plays fine. The fact that this has a Tune-o-matic bridge is what sold me. It also has a push/pull pot for coil splitting. Considering it's just that, it sounds good to me, and I find myself using it for clean tones to ease out that aforementioned harshness. So if you want a very solid entry into seven string guitars, and/or, like me, don't want a black or gray guitar with a tremolo bridge, I highly recommend this!
