Great set!
These are nice to introduce your little one to brushing. We still wipe our babies gyms with a wash cloth because she's only 5 months old and doesn't have any teeth yet. The beginner brush we do at bath time to prepare her for an actual toothbrush in her mouth. She took to it by the second day and I think she actually enjoys it on her gums now. It's easily cleanable and I did put out through our dishwasher to initially disinfect it. We haven't used the second one just yet but overall it's the same with a slight difference in the rubber bristles. The protector/stand is also a great idea. It helps keep their little toothbrushes from touching anything (perfect if your picky about toothbrush/mouth cleanliness like I am). Then as they have more control it is a stopper to aviod becoming a choking hazard for little ones still improving their motor skills. I think this was a well thought out product!

My daughter loves it!
Bought this product in January and ever since it arrived my daughter has truly benefited from the tooth brush and the gum massager. She is teething and the gum massager gently relives the pressure and pain on her little gums. I can see the relief she makes by her facial expressions as I massage her gums. As the manufacturer states, DO NOT leave your baby to use this product on their own. I could never imagine doing that anyway..I enjoy helping her relief the ache of teething. The toothbrush is just perfect to brush the 6 teeth she has currently. But, is also helps the gums too. The guard can be used on both the toothbrush and the gum massager. Brushing my daughter's teeth and massaging her aching gums is an activity we both enjoy togheter and it's good for her too. I would highly recommend this product.

A standby for babies with oral motor issues
These brushes are great for helping to develop oral motor skills in babies and toddlers. Both of my children have had oral defensiveness and/or swallowing issues, and their occupational therapists and speech therapists have all recommended these Nuk brushes. The smaller brush is a "tooth"brush, more of a gumbrush, really, for infants. It doesn't have bristles that might shed, and you can use it to stimulate their gums and get them used to having a toothbrush in their mouth. The back is white plastic like the handle of the brush. The rubber "bristles" are fairly firm, not soft like the finger toothbrushes. The larger brush is the one we use more often; it's got protrusions on all sides but is still reasonably small. It's fairly stiff rubber but not stiff enough to hurt. It also provides stimulation to the gums, cheeks, and tongue. Helping my babies to use this, and letting them use it on their own, before a meal (of formula or purees or table food) helps to "wake up" their mouth and better coordinate their eating and swallowing. It also seems to reduce gagging and defensiveness. The handle is large and easy for a 5mo baby to grasp, and the collar (a yellow piece which snaps off for washing and fits on both brushes) prevents them from putting it too far into their mouth. My youngest also likes to chew on the collar, which, hey, cool.Basically this is the first go-to tool to keep in your arsenal if your kids have any oral sensitivity or motor coordination difficulty. I'm fairly certain it would make a good chewy toy even for babies without sensitivity issues, as they seem to really enjoy gnawing at it, especially during that "check everything out with my mouth" phase.

Great Product!
This was actually recommended to us by my son's Occupational Therapist and I am so grateful I listened to her. It worked great for i troducing my son to brushing his teeth and I also love the biting stick because it really seems to comfort him during teething. I actually bought it twice because we lost the first one. I also love that it has a safety ring because I have a huge fear of him falling and choking on something. Overall, I would definitely recommend this for babies who are just learning about brushing, and babies and toddlers who are teething.

Great buy!
Got these training brushes for my eldest son and let him use them while he was teething. He loved it! He got used to the brush feeling in his hand early on and now, at 2 1/2 years old he still loves brushing his teeth and does it twice a day. The set lasted until we switched to a normal baby brush and was still in a fairly good condition when we finally retired it :)I ordered a second set of these for my 4 month old and I think we'll stick to the same drill :)

Love them!
This is great for kids with scensory issues. The down side is they don't clean teeth well when your child has all their teeth but it is a great place to start if you struggle with brushing teeth due to scensory problems. My daughter is on the first tooth brush at 3 years old; we started a month ago. She brushes her teeth by herself each day with it. Hopefully we can move onto the next brush eventually. It is a traumatic experience with a regular toothbrush for her. This was recommended by our speech therapist.

Not for teething toddlers
My 18 month old chewed this toothbrush to pieces in a few weeks. Maybe it’s good for younger kids, but I definitely don’t recommend it for teething toddlers.
