Q: Hi, my tv doesn’t have bluetooth but does have 3xhdmi, 2xusb, scart, vga, pc audio & optical sockets, would this bar work on my tv ? thx in advance.

Hi, The sound bar support aux (phono socket), HDMI and Optical. optical and phono cables included. I have been using the (recommended) optical input and this works fine with our Sony Bravia TV. The sound bar is an improvement on the TV speakers but don't expect cinema quality sound.

Q: I have high tone deafness and need to hear dialogue in a lower register to be understood. How could this help with that?

I have hearing problems and have the speaker located right next to me rather than next to the TV - that way the sound goes direct into my ears. Not totally sure this will fully help with your situation, but would definitely be better than the sound just from the TV

Q: Presume this soundbar does not auto power off if no input for while? Can it be always left powered on so tv always uses soundbar when tv switched on?

I switched off the tv last night when it was using the soundbar, I switched the tv on this morning and it was still using the soundbar although there is no light to indicate that it is switched on, hope this helps. PS At night there is no power to both devices.
