Get what you pay for.
Upon receiving them, 2 out of 9 cutters were chipped on the cutting edge.

These are a good option for the money
They work good and worked better after I shaped it with a grinder I grind the top an bottom on a slight angle so the bit was twisted very slightly because I couldn't grind a relief on top of the carbide it has worked great ever since

They do what I need them to.
Works for the small lathe we use.

too cheap to save money on
Bought these for the rough removal of metal on starting cuts to save wear on my fine cutting bits and especially for cleaning off rusty steel.Three of the bits arrived damaged. Not sure what grade carbide was actually used but it is very brittle. Mine came wrapped in a bundle rubbing against each other with the cutting edges touching carbide against carbide so they chipped, badly. Two of the chipped bits were so bad they couldn't be resharpened. Not enough material left. The brazing and paint jobs are sloppy and the carbide isn't finished. I found paint on the cutting edges. These need to be sharpened and reshaped BEFORE first use. If these were your first or only bits and you added the cost of the diamond cup wheels needed to do the sharpening they are no longer a 'good deal' price wise.FYI, If you are seriously into using a lathe with carbide bits then a set of diamond sharpening wheels are a necessity not an option. Diamond is the only thing that will grind a carbide cutter. Carbide tips must be polished free of scratches after sharpening or they can 'snap' in two.All carbide is more brittle than hardened steel but a good carbide bit will never 'powder'. Carbide bits are not recommended for anything softer than hardened tool steel unless you are turning down rusty scrap or working with 'mystery steel' scrap. Carbide really doesn't cut any better than High Speed Steel bits in soft metals (often worse) but takes the heat generated by fast metal removal much better without dulling.

Fair Quality
Not the sharpest tooling out of the box but a fair value.

Very disappointed. Even after adjusting the angle of the bit ...
First time I used them, they chipped. Tried to turn a piece of 1.5" steel plumbing pipe to remove the threads so I could weld it into the side of a tank. Very disappointed. Even after adjusting the angle of the bit several times, it still wanted to jump and skip against the pipe. When I was done, I noticed that the edge of the bit was rough with tiny chips and the corner was chipped.

Very Poor Material
Would not even cut aluminum without issues. Good if you want to turn wood or plastic, but otherwise, stay away and get something better. No sure how they call these lathe tools.
