The Complete Call the Midwife Stories: True Stories of the East End in the 1950s

These are a good read and perhaps better viewed in their own right ...
I am a die hard 'Call The Midwife' fan but it's important to note that the memoirs of Jenny Worth were the basis for the series, not the entire premise or episode by episode story. This is a very honest sometimes brutal account of how hard life really was in the East End after the war and it doesn't sugar coat the reality in any way, which perhaps the tv series tends to do. These are a good read and perhaps better viewed in their own right as an interesting account of social history at a time of great deprivation and change.

A Wonderful read
The books, story and Characters are a must read. Full if emotional content, information and historical insight into the people and their battles with their environment. Full of compassion and very touching.. condition
