Pokemon Adventures volume 7
Volume 7 and the final instalment of the Yellow arc.The volume opens up with Blaine and Mewtwo facing off against Lance and his Dragon type Pokemon, however Lance demonstrates his ability to heal his Pokemon, an ability that Yellow also has shares, which helps turn the tide of battle in the red headed jerks favour. Things seem hopeless when help arrives in a most unusual form, Giovanni the leader of Team Rocket who battles Lance since he see's him as an obstacle to his own ambitions. However Lance completes his plan and uses all 8 Kanto Gym Badges to summon a mysterious Pokemon so he can use its power (spoilers Its Lugia)Meanwhile Red has his rematch with Bruno and Green and Blue wrap up their respective battles with other Elite Four members and the three Pallet Town trainers reunite to watch the final battle between Lance and Yellow. The volume ends with a small epilogue setting up volume 8 and the start of the Jhoto arc.All in all the Yellow arc is a good story however in my opinion its not as good as the Red/Blue arc mostly because I never really cared about Yellow since I found her kind of annoying with her whole 'Hippie' mentality on not wanting to make Pokemon fight. Lance is also rather preachy, the whole 'humans are bad' thing is kind of grating, I imagine this is where they got the idea for N from Black and White except N is an even bigger idiot then Lance and Yellow.Still I have to give the writers credit, they managed to craft a story around Pokemon Yellow, which is no small feat considering the game is essentially the exact same as Red and Blue with a few small tweaks, and introduced the Elite Four and presented them as a real threat.A must have purchase for anyone collecting these trades and for Pokemon fans alike.
