Expensive, but at least they are quality.
I own both the Sony / Zeiss FE 35mm 2.8 and FE 55mm 1.8 lenses. Both lenses come with hoods, but both leave a lot to be desired. The 35mm hood is a cute little plastic affair. Effective but kinda flimsy. The hood for the 55 mm is a plastic beast. It’s huge. When I saw these lens hoods that were designed for the bayonet for both of the lenses, I was immediately interested. They were exactly what I was looking for: compact, and made of metal. But for $45 each, it was a tough sell initially. But I gave it some thought and decided to splurge on these expensive hoods.Thankfully…they are brilliant! Their material and finish match the lenses *perfectly*. And they fit snugly and reassuringly. To be honest, if Sony packaged these hoods as OEM, I wouldn’t give it a second thought. And Sony *should* make these hoods standard.Icing on the cake: the lens caps are actually useful. I say this because standard lens caps are the snap on affair that easily come off. But these. These are pressure fit and have a wide enough lip to really grab into the hood. They are made of the same metal and have a soft inner lining. I never fell in love with lens caps until now.In conclusion, these hoods are expensive. But I can confirm, they are extremely well made and perfectly engineered for these lenses. Money well spent.

The hood sits crooked on my Rx1r
Seems like good build quality but sits crooked on my lens. Disappointed with a $45 hood. At this price it should be perfect. Ordered a replacement to see if it fits any better.

Make sure you turn it until it clicks - RX1RII
Initially I thought this hood sat crooked on my RX1RII, but turns out you need to give it a little extra umph until it clicks into place. Once you do that, it sits straight and looks good! Great build quality.

** will start to sit crooked on the lens*
I have been trying to figure out what is the cause of this, for the life of me I cannot understand how it is happening - the lens has now started to go to a 45 degree slant when fully seated in the lens shoeAttached is the photo from original purchase and photo from today.

Does Not Fit All the Lenses that are Listed
First of all the hood and metal cap are beautiful and high quality. However this hood does not work with all the lenses that it is advertised to fit. I purchased this hood especially to complement my Sony 35 f2.8 but although it did fit the threads it will not lock into place, rendering it unusable in practical terms. This was the same outcome for all the following lenses that I tried it on ,the Sony 20 f2,8, 28 f2, 30 f3.5, 35 f1.8, 30 f1.8, the 55-210 zoom and the aforementioned 35 f2.8 . In each case the lens hood would not lock on securely. The only two lenses that I tried this hood on that it did lock onto properly are the Sony/Zeiss 55 f1.8 and the Sony/Zeiss 24 f1.8. On those two lenses the hood looks great and works well , replacing their original large hoods I love how snugly the metal cap fits the Haoge hood but I am totally disappointed that this particular hood did not fit the one lens ( the Sony 35f2.8) that I actually bought it for. I do not know if there might be a copy variance with these hoods
