New OEM Trim Sender Cam, 99999-03830-00

Worked perfectly. Noticed the trim gauge reading was way off, thought it was the trim sender but it was actually this part. Old part was plastic and snapped which didn’t allow the trim sender to move properly. Pulled the old one out and replace this one in about 10 mins. Took another 5 mins to get the position right. Really happy this is all metal now.

Perfect fit for a 2008 Yamaha 175 HPDI outboard. This replaces the factory plastic trim actuator that brakes and causes the trim sender from ever reaching the full “down” position. This is somewhat difficult to access for replacement - especially if you have hydraulic steering. I had to remove the trim sending unit to get enough clearance to install, but since this new style is metal, it should never break again.

The product works perfectly. It would have been helpful to get a simple set of installation steps. There isn’t much working space so a little guidance goes a long way.

4th Yamaha I've had. 4th trim cam I have installed. Yep, metal is stronger than plastic Yamaha. Always a chore to install. But solves your trim reading problem.

Great replacement it’s metal instead of the plastic one Yamaha uses. Difficult to install couldn’t figure out how to install had a boat mechanic install it. Should last forever

This is an improvement over the OEM part and even if your factory plastic cam trim sender hasn't broke yet I'd recommend replacing it with this updated kit.
