Best option for keeping feet pretty!
Wow.I bought this when a friend told me it was a must have . . . and didn't expect much. I mean honestly . . . I've fallen for every foot file gimmick out there and since I live in sandals and teach swim classes, my feet (especially my heels) are ALWAYS cracked. So even with the high recommendation from my friend and high star rating here, I wasn't expecting much. I popped in my 2AA batteries, swapped out the blue roller for the green (easy to do, there's a small button on the side you push and it pops out), and went to town. Quickly decided the sink was not the best place since it was kicking up more dust than I was used to and moved outside. I couldn't believe the white cloud -- yuck!! It was so impressive I went to get my two main foot tools, the Clarisonic Pedi (the foot version) and the Checi file. I did half of the foot I hadn't started with each until the tool couldn't get any more results. Then I tried the Emjoi . . . and it looked like snow! WOW!!! I couldn't believe that it could still get dead skin off. I then swapped sides, wondering if it was just a difference in tools . . . nope, the Checi and the Clarisonic weren't getting any more off. Yet this Emjoi continued to. Maybe I finally have found something that will heel my heal cracks! So, here's what I found as far as usage hints . . . don't press too hard or it will stop the roller. Stop to knock or blow the dust out often, it's amazing how quickly it collects powder. Watch your hand placement, I have larger hands and long fingers and found that I was often blocking the back vent from the roller. In my hand it feels a little small but not so much that I dropped it or thought I would. It's light and takes as close to no effort as you can get. Yes, the roller, like any sandpaper that's being used, runs out quickly, but it is completely worth the replacement costs IMO. The results are AMAZING! Really happy with this purchase!

I'm a guy and this is pretty awesome.
I bought this because I'm kind of obsessed with all my body parts looking good especially my feet. I'm not really vain I just can't stand people that don't take care of themselves. I have nice feet for a guy and I've used just about everything to keep them that way. I've used the PediSpin that you can buy at CVS in the As Seen On TV section. That sucks, and bogs down with the slightest pressure. I have the egg thing also and that works just fair. THIS HOWEVER is really very very good. It will bog down if you really push on it but honestly this Emjoi really does sand down your feet to a baby soft feel. It really takes off the dead skin and calluses. I think the corded one and rechargeable one might have more power but this is really a very good buy and you can get different types of rollers for it. I just ordered the super coarse green rollers but the one this comes with the extra coarse are great but the green ones are probably amazing. You can get the generic rollers , a pack of 4 pretty cheap and they look just as good. I bought them but haven't opened the package yet. Haven't needed to. I don't think you'll be disappointed in this as it really does the job and feels pretty good doing it. 2 AA batteries that so far have not worn out after about 6 uses. Very happy with this.EDIT: The green rollers came and I used it last night. They work even better then the standard blue one what came with the device. They are more abrasive and sand off even more dead skin. My feet are smooth as can be and my girlfriend is amazed with how well this thing works. I also noticed that if you use the lower quality batteries this thing bogs down somewhat if you press even a little hard. HOWEVER, if you buy good batteries - I bought the generic CVS alkalines that were on sale. They are basically the Duracell I think with the CVS name. They worked much better in that you can push down now pretty hard on the machine and it won't stop rolling nearly as easily as it did with less quality batteries. So, to sum up. The better batteries and the green rollers are the way to go. I don't really have super rough feet but the amount of skin this takes off is pretty amazing. Now my feet are amazingly smooth and I use this every day anyway to keep up on them. Ok, so I'm a little obsessive. Not sure how anyone can give this a low rating as it works great unless you have feet that look like a million year old stone and you don't press so hard that your knuckles turn white which you wouldn't have to anyway. This is a great little device. You can't go wrong buying it and it't inexpensive too.

Good Product - Keep your batteries fresh!
When I first received this product, I placed some batteries in it that I had found around the house and it was a big disappointment. It just wouldn't work very well at all. So I decided to buy some new batteries and when I placed them in the product and turned it on - WOW what a difference! It takes some time to get used to the light pressure that you need to use in order for this device to work properly. I took the advise of another reviewer and I sat in my bathtub when I used this. I am glad that I did because all of the skin that is removed from your feet is turned into a fine dust and it goes all over the place. I didn't give this a 5 star rating because I have to replace the batteries frequently. I have resorted to using rechargeable batteries to save money and that seems to have helped alot. I use this every other day, and I recharge the batteries after my 2nd use. When I use this product, I do the bottom of my entire foot and then around the heals and I concentrate on the balls of my feet for both feet. This device is defintely for maintenance and not a one time cure-all but it is so much easier than using stones, sand paper, or other items which require alot of effort and pressure to do half the job this little thing can do.Make sure to do the following and you should have no problems with your device. Enjoy! * Keep your batteries fresh (change out about every other use depending on how much you use it each time - I suggest rechargeable) * Clean the roller after each use (I take mine out and run it under water and then dry it off) * Clean the device after each use (I take a paper towel and wipe off the device before I place the roller back in it) * Be sure to use a light pressure when using the device or it will not work.

In one day this did more than any professional achieved :-)
This is the first review I have ever written on Amazon. And I have bought a lot of stuff! That's how inspired I am ;-)I think when you read a review, you are thinking, does this apply to me?So, here you go. My experience with the product will come, but first a bit of background so you can relate or otherwise.I have BIG feet. Well, actually tiny feet. Size four(UK)/37(EUR). But really wide. Like flippers.I have two kids, 9 and 12, boys, and I trek around after them and have done for 10 years since they were 'off'.The only time I get to think about my feet is in bed. I look at the ugly things sticking out from the duvet. There they are, covered in hard skin, with raggy nails from beach patrol, walking-boot confinement, work-shoe horror, barefoot gardening/rescuing/telling off in the road outside (in a good way :-)), etc., etc.And then I'd get to the pitch of thinking, "I need a pedicure."So I'd trot along to a salon, shell out £X for a 17 year old to rub cream into my feet and paint my nails. Pleasant, but...Having paid for my pedicure, I think, "I can do better." So armed with a pumice stone, a cheese-grater-style hard-skin remover, and (yes really) a bladed corn remover thing, cos things are looking that bad, I go for it in the bathroom and end up crying. And covered in plasters. With that experience in the back of my mind I look at them poking out at the end of the bed and think, "Right. I need a chiropodist." I wiggle my piggies at this foot professional and say, "I have hideous hard skin. Take it away. I promise to look after them once you're done."They are not going to help. All they do is look at you, clock that you are not an old lady and say, "You do realise we don't do nail polish?" I just want to say, "JUST CUT OFF THE HARD SKIN STUFF." But since they look at the most hideous feet, day in day out, anyone under 40 in their eyes has the feet of an angel. You'll get your feet washed, rubbed a bit and your funky nail polish will be removed so they can ID non-existent fungal infection.Yet, after years of this going on, in cycles of hope and despair, after 10 mins with this product, I have reduced the size of my big toe by about 1/5. My heal is not looking like some stratified rock formation. My heart is soaring.I read a review on here that said that it hadn't 'touched' their hard skin. I think this is because they just followed the vid. While I admire that the company chose a model who had less than dainty feet, she had obviously been paid to not care for her feet for a few days. So while her feet where real looking, the reality of her experience is not thus. Well, it's not my reality. If you have feet like mine, mangled by years of neglect and lack of anyone out there to understand what you want when it comes to 'treatments' for your feet, get this product. Buy a few refills of the blue ones. Then go for it. You need refills if you are starting from scratch. I reckon once you have it all under control, it's true what they say that the roller things will last for months ... rather than minutes.I've taken a pic of my 'done' big toe and 'not-done' big toe to show my equally foot-beauty challenged friends. I am amazed. I am happy. And all for the price of a couple of pedicures (even if you count in the refill purchases.) And you get to have your feet back.PS. I can actually bend my big toe properly again with no hard skin in the way. How cool is that?PPS If you don't have kids, don't have ugly feet and think having feet that do work is a bit weird, then maybe this product will disappoint... and can I have your life please? :-)

Emjoi Micro Pedi....Loving it... Review by Ms M Patel
I read nearly every single review, asked around my friends about Emjoi Micro pedi..I did not want to buy yet another item that i simply only used once and threw away eventually!!I took the plunge and very happy that I did.. Having read about the batteries going quickly I purchased this item with rechargeable batteries and a battery charger. I also bought two extra course rollers. All this cost me just £48 from Amazon, using cheapest suppliers. My feet for all my adult life (47 ys) have suffered from extra hard thick skin..truly horrid. I spent £25 for half an hour treatment at my chiropodist. My purchases will save me lots of money and effort.I used to use cheese grator type foot files as the only thing that worked inbetween my chiropodist appointments Lots of hard work was involved!!This item works very well.. I will honestly say I also used a blade type simple gadget to initially remove a lot of my hardened foot skin, it is the first time I used a blade and did end up bloody!..yuk, but still had lots of hard skin left that the micro pedi got rid off... Yes the battery runs out very quickly, hence I purchased recharge ones and also I am sure a new roller will be used often but will last longer if you keep it clean with an old toothbrush to take out all dead removed skin and wash roller in water and dry thoroughly this will also help with longer use of roller, not particularly cheap at £5 each,....but whatever it is far cheaper than my cost I paid to have done privately and done in the comfort of my own home any time i want, for me usually before shower...put nice foot cream on, vaseline intensive is a great cheap product to use; better than a lot of expensive medicated creams from chiropodist!..Yes the manufactures should make it mains operated with long lead and maybe a thicker coarser roller..But i can truly say i am very very happy with what it has done in a few uses with my disgusting hard skin!...it is as if i had it done professionally. I will now keep up with it regularly so less time on them when i do to keep them smooth and lovely. So even with the hardest skin, either take of with a blade like device to start or once done professionally this gadget will work amazingly. If you have very very hard skin I would suggest you do it daily for a week or so bit at a time and then maintenance...Dont press too hard, yes expect to change battery and roller often...but like me get rechargeables and look online for cheapest rollers and keep them clean ....Then you will be very happy indeed.Look what I think is take a chance on this item if you are really really not happy, clean it all up and sell it on ebay you will get back a big chunk of your money... but i am sure you will be very happy like me..Im not giving mine to anyway...I love it... Baring My Sole
So my 81 year old father came to stay with me along with his own personal pharmacy of pills, potions, lotions and things that went bump in the night (mainly himself falling out of bed). On the second night , after I had medicated him, rubbed cream into various parts of his anatomy and squirted drops in both eyes, he demanded I give his feet 'a good going over' and produced a Micro-Pedi. I who am generally only staggered when I fall out of the pub, was truly staggered. My ancient parent's feet, formerly known as hooves on account of the amount of rock-hard skin accumulated over his seven score and ten+ years, were soft, supple and blemish free. What;s more, they put my own hoary plates of horror to shame. Ye Gods! I exclaimed. What miracle is this? What has wrought such wondrous results? Hast had a foot transplant, oh venerable patre? I should mention that up till this point, he has got through more chiropodists than I have bars of chocolate (when asked her weight, she politely deigned to comment). 'It's that bleddy yoke', announced the aged one in an Irish accent most strong. 'It's a bleddy miracle.' And lo, it came to pass, the wisdom of the ancient was correct. I passed it over his girl-child feet and they winked back at me all pink and healthy and callus free. I was jealous. Just as at the age of 37 I knew I'd never drive through Paris in a sports car with the warm wind in my hair, I also knew that at the age of 47, my feet were best kept under wraps for the rest of their natural, revealed only to my husband on those days he can't find his glasses. From the attic came the faint strains of a big bag of Ebay-bound, strappy sandals calling me. 'One last chance, they begged. Let us see daylight one last time. Let us dance beneath the stars.' My heart melted. The call of Amazon was strong. I bought the Pedi on express delivery and it arrived next day. I spirited it quickly away to my bedchamber, ripped the packaging open, bared my soles, turned on the Pedi and - nothing! No batteries. Cue much frustration as I hunted high and low , eventually resorting to robbing the batteries from a remote control. Still nothing! Then I put them in right way round and we had lift-off. A veritable snow-storm ensued as, rhythmically, I ran the Pedi over soles and heels - over back - over back - getting in the swing. A few specks got in my eyes and almost blinded me. I pressed on (but not too hard). Eventually, the snow-storm lessened to just the odd flake. I took a deep breath, ran my fingers over my foot. They glided, as though on silk. No rough snags. No ridges. No horrible yellowy scaly bits. My feet were finally ready to meet their adoring public and all thanks to my sole mate. I was walking on air. Everybody noticed the difference. 'Why are you two inches shorter?' asked one. 'Have you shrunk?' Okay, so maybe two inches of hard skin is a bit of an exaggeration, but I can honestly say that after years of neglect, I'm happy to get the piggies out in public. Stare as much as you like. It's no hard-skin off my nose, or feet. (PS. I have a scaly elbow from leaning on it so much as I type - I gave the Pedi a whirl over it and, bingo, it's much better. Just need to keep it moisturised now. PS. If you try this at home, be it on your own head, or elbow or whatever. Strictly speaking, it's not what the Pedi is for. But I like to get creative.)

Has lasted well. But drains batteries. Doesn't save much time over a manual file. But works.
The battery compartment lid fell off fairly quickly and so I have to hold it slightly strangely to 'squeeze' the batteries into place or it stops! Not too difficult though, but a shame. Otherwise, it's lasted well, I've had it about 4 years and it's still as good as new and works well. It's not as effective as I'd hoped it would be though - barely saves any time over a (good) manual foot file, though of course it saves my energy! I'm in my late 20s, probably average feet for my age or maybe a bit harder?! takes me an hour to do my feet with this or a manual file and I do them every couple of months. I use the most coarse rollers (I wouldn't bother with the least coarse ones tbh)It also gets through batteries quite quickly so I've invested in rechargeable batteries now! For the first 10 minutes it's very good but then it starts to slow down a little. After an hour I have to replace the batteries because it's just too slow, even though the batteries still have power in them - maybe the issue is with how it takes power from the battery. So I have a load of half-used batteries. And I'm using duracell power, long-lasting etc. In hindsight a plug-in model that you can use while charging may have worked better (if they exist) so that it can take in the right amount of energy constantly. But overral it does work pretty well. Easy to clean. My feet are happy.

Product works well - but may be time-consuming/expensive or not as effective for those with long-term hard skin deposits
This deserves to receive much of the positive feedback it has, as it works well for the most part, though I would say the head could do with being narrower as I find it is too big to get at the skin between the toes. However, my experience has indicated that it is perhaps better suited to those who have only moderate hard skin deposits, have regularly tended their feet, or regularly visited a pedicurist and wish to maintain their own feet, as it is unlikely to eradicate long-term hard skin deposits without expending a lot of time and money. It has certainly improved the look of my feet, I no longer have cracked heels and some of the hard skin has noticeably reduced, but the unit is battery hungry and the rollers do not last long. I use it for 2 or 3 times a week and by the 4th use, the batteries and roller need replacing (I cannot comment on the longevity of rechargeable batteries but I would expect them to require regular recharging). For this reason, I have given up trying to eradicate long-term hard skin deposits, as this would just take too much time/battery power.I disagree with other reviewers who say the fine grain roller is not worth using, as it the best choice for the more delicate areas, e.g. cuticles of the toes and toe pads, while the coarse roller is better suited to tougher areas. On the plus side, I found rollers that are too smooth and worn for use on the feet, can be useful for smoothing rough toenails. As models invariably get updated, I envisage a time in the future when the rollers will not be available or hard to get hold of (and therefore even more expensive than they are now) so it may become very expensive to use then and less cost effective.
