Maestro Music Stand Extender – Single Extension

As a professional musician, I sometimes play charts that are 5 or 6 pages long! This extension makes it easy!

They go on easily, are light weight, sturdy enough for the intended task. My daughter plays double bass in an orchestra, and is very pleased with them.

Solid good quality product, easy to add to my stand. When I bought my stand, it ame with one of this ones, which I use to extend to the right. Now with a second added, I slide it to the left , allowing me to have four pages of music in front of me, exactly what I need to play favorite pure with my daughter. Love it!

The description doesn't really give the dimensions of the extender. It gives the dimensions of the package and on top of that it was in metric. Shame on me for not doing a metric conversion. Only 1 of the reviews (which I missed the first time) mentions that it is not a universal extender. The answered questions suggested that it was. I immediately returned it.

I originally made the mistake of buying only one, thinking that would be sufficient. But I quickly started pushing the extender farther and farther out to give me even more room, until there was only about a half-inch overlap between the extender and the music stand. To keep the extender from falling off, I experimented with various wood clamps and binder clips I had around the house, which looked pretty ugly. I ended up buying a one-inch "C" clamp at the hardware store that I clamp down on the extender to keep it tight on the music stand. The clamp is black and barely noticeable from the front (more obvious from the back). I just ordered a second extender.

I modified it to be used it as a iPad/ laptop holder attached to my drum kit and it works great.

The extensions appear to be well made and very functional. I purchased two for my Manhasset Voyager Stand to give me the option of viewing four pages of music at once. They also create a deeper music shelf which better accommodate bulky music folders.I leave the extensions on my stand when I break it down for transport. When slid together they just cover the width of the stand. It's a snug fit in the carrying case but it works. They may be a bit more expensive than you would expect but they've been a very useful tool.

I love this standout! I use many enlarged copies & have multiple books on my stand at times. This standout is sturdy.It looks better that the clipboards I velcroed to my stand. The molded tray gives it more stability. I think I will order another to increase the amount of music I can organize on my stand. Using one on either end still allows room for the accessory shelf (#1100) that fits under. After owning my Manhasset stand for 24 yrs, this is a nice upgrade.

I purchased this music stand extender for my Manhasset music stand so I could have my iPad and music books on the stand at the same time. While this outcome has been accomplished, I am quite disappointed in the extender. I presumed that being made by the same company as the stand, it would blend in well. Rather, it is clunky looking--the lip sticks too far out, and it is taller than the stand. And, most disappointingly, it is made out of plastic, not metal. I realize this is a speciality market kind of item, but I ended up paying more than $46 Canadian for a piece of plastic.
