Works Great
I had pretty low expectations when I bought this, but after using it to help my 5 year old to learn to ski, I am completely sold on this thing. I love the strap so I can ski behind her and help her slow down if she gets going to fast. I also thought the backpack thing was kinda pointless at first. But again after using it, the backpack is so cool for just being able to stuff the strap into it when my kid rides the ski lift. Finally, the handle on there is the bomb! It is SO handy to just grab it and pull her up a little bit to help her get on the ski lift. Also, when she falls down, I can just grab the handle and easily pull her up with very little effort and without bending over and killing my back. I would highly recommend this!

Great Value for Peace of Mind
I have taken my 6 year old daughter a few times on the bunnies w/out this and was fine. However, last time we went and did a few intermediate blue runs with some icy patches, wish I had this and it would have been handy. Was thinking of making something like this but this was very affordable and is solidly built, wife approved. With shoulders and a chest strap it is sturdy and what you would expect from a harness. The bag is a nice touch, secured by a magnet clasp in the middle. Wouldn't put anything valuable in it but it is great to hold the straps when transporting and riding the chair lift along with some snack or other small items.Fit on both my 3 and 6 year old with the adjustable straps so will get plenty of use out of it. Daughter says it was comfortable wearing it and now have that peace of mind of not having a potential run-away disaster. Looking forward to using it next time we head up!

Perfect bag for beginners
This is one of the less expensive ski backpacks out there so I knew it wouldn't have all the bell and whistles similar products on the market have. We only used this 3-4 times this season because that was all we needed! It was perfect for my little one to learn how to ski. Kids can be so fearless so this was exactly what a cautious momma needed to control speed. The bag on the back was nice for holding some extra gloves. It was in great condition after 4 long days of skiing and we will hand it down to a friend next year. I imagine it would hold up well after being tossed in the wash too if necessary. My only con- the straps kept slipping down her coat shoulders but it didn't really matter for use.

It works, but the design leaves some to be desired.
This harness works as designed. For the price, you're getting a product that will allow you to keep your little ones with you while you ski while teaching them how the slopes will feel under their feet. In that regard, this product works. However, the front strap is sown on too low and doesn't hold the product on the child very well. We readjusted the strap multiple times, but we were never successful in finding a sweet spot where the harness would stay on well. When there is no tension from the straps (such as the child standing still), this harness has the tendency to fall off. We've tried other harnesses before and have not encountered this problem. I feel like the designers never tested this product, otherwise it would be an easy issue to fix. I have half a mind to cut the straps and re-sew them on myself. If this one issue were fixed, I'd give the product five stars.

Helpful
We bought two of these. The one for our youngest skiier (5) was a big help. Having the grab handle in back was useful for pulling him up and giving just a little extra support. The shoulder straps kept falling down on the little guy so we ended up crossing them and clipping them on the opposite clip and that kept the straps where they needed to be.Other than that, the pouch is handy for keeping the tethers (and gloves and such). It's not the most secure pouch with just one snap holding it closed but we didn't have any issues with anything falling out.

Suitable for Special Needs
I had been looking for a safety tether for my 7 yr old challenged son to keep him safe on hikes and walks. Don't judge: He has no sense of danger from strangers, traffic, cliffs, trenches, toxic plants, etc. This gives him more freedom to walk with us and not have to hold hands the whole time, and keeps him safe. He can't reach the clips behind his back to take off and disappear, and loves the sense of independence.

Worth It!
Easy to use. Good quality for the money. My son is 3 1/2 but small for his age. The shoulder straps were a little big, even tightened down to their smallest setting. He was in a puffy coat which helped. Wonderful for helping little ones get on and off the lifts. He loved that he could store his snacks in the pouch. It gave him the ability and freedom to ski with the family beyond the bunny hills which was huge for all of us.

Good leash for price
Good for learning to ski. So far we use the handle for my 2 year old without leash, with us on foot. We will eventually use the leash and ski with him.
