Square D 9998PC241 Contact Kit for Pressure Switch, 9013FSG

Used this kit to rebuilt a 35 year old pressure switch.Only complaint was that the screws came a little tight on the replacement point block.The old round diaphrams were thicker but the hex diaphram seems to work fine even though it is a little thinner. New kit will Probably last 10 years.

The screws were in way too tight. Tried multiple screwdrivers to try and loosen then to get the wires on and all they did was strip. I ended up having to drill them all out and use the screws from the old one. I also noticed that the old piece was much more see solid. The directions however were great and easy to understand.

I watched a few youtube videos and looked at the documentation prior to ordering. So I knew the general steps to replace. I only replaced the contacts. I did not bother with the diaphragm because the switch was barely two years old and I did not figure it would wear out that quickly. Of course, I was surprised the old contacts were so burned so quickly, but I blame the original installer for not wrapping the wire all the way around the terminal posts. This created heat and resistance. I had to cut the wires back about an inch to get some good copper and then made sure I had a good loop going around each terminal and full contact with the screw the entire way. Hopefully, that will increase the life of this new set of contacts. Can you believe the "experienced" installer just put the ends of the wire under the screws and tightened them down and called it a day? Sheesh!

Easy to install and it's like buying a replacement pressure switch for less than half price. Removed the six screws, cleaned out the rust and sediment in the pressure chamber, and replaced the old diaphragm with the easy to install replacement diaphragm included in the kit. The contacts were easy to replace - just be careful not to knock the spring-held, hinged mechanism out of place. That little blunder took me a little while to figure out how correctly reassemble. Just installed and back in-service, the newly rebuilt pressure switch is working great. Since I still have the last used pressure switch that I had replaced, I'm ordering another kit so I can replace the contacts and diaphragm on that unit and have it on-hand, ready for installation once the other unit starts to fail. In 16 years, I learned it's inevitable and just a matter time. Definitely recommended.

Just needed the contacts replaced since mine had been in use for 12 years. Old one was very burnt and this was easy to replace and get back up and running with my well pump.4/4/23 update: had to get another one of these. Relay contacts always burn out. This time though I couldn't get one of the screws that hold the wire out and had to drill it out. But got it installed and all is working again.

Did not have to disconnect pressure switch from existing compressor a little tricky to rebuild the points but definitely worth the time not to remove the entire pressure switch! Plus a huge saving on the cost of a new Pressure switch!

Ideal replacement item rather than having to changge out the whole switch. The diaphram supplied was Hexagonal in shape and did not conform exactly to the circular plastic housing which screws down onto the metal bpdy of the swtich to activiate the contacts; because of this difference in the two components the screws when tightened to the original tension caused the plastic to distort and it cracked in one section. Less that the original Torque had to be applied to the screws clamping the plastic housing in place which left an uneasy feeling that it might leak.

An easy fix for a pressure switch with burnt contacts.
