Spring Strings - Lily Morton
I got a real good feeling with this one because I spent several great holidays in Cornwall and Even spent a holiday in a place just like Caden’s farm.Malachi Booth is a world class male supermodel, working out of London. He is snarky to the nth degree and keeps himself as tight as a clam, no one gets through his protective armour. He just does hookups and leaves. They all just want him for his gorgeous looks and body.Caden is a farmer near Fowey in Cornwall, following a really nasty breakup when he nearly lost his farm to his greedy ex partner Colin, he has vowed to never again get into a relationship. He’s in loads of debt, can’t afford physical help so he hires out locations on his farm to help pay off debts. It’s winter and freezing cold, he’s just leaving the barn when this guy crosses his path wearing a long green velvet coat, gold coloured briefs and a pair of boots. He coughing and spluttering and complaining about the cold, after a few snarky exchanges he discovers the guy is a model heading into the field for a shoot. A short while later out of curiosity he heads to where the shoot is taking place. He witnesses something that makes him mad and an altercation takes place. The main model collapses and medical help is needed. He’s brought to Caden’s house and a doctor is called. What’s the verdict?Malachi is so sweet and vulnerable, you’d just want to cuddle him, keep him safe and protect him. This is a standalone story unrelated to any series that I can see. I loved the story by Lily Morton

An easy read full of all the feels
I loved this book, the two MC's are brilliantly funny and have a great camaraderie together. Low angst, lots of chemistry. However, there are not many steamy scenes but then it is a short book. I should have read this before The Sunny Side because that story talks about Mal and Caden as a couple already. An easy read, full of all the feels.

Snarky Sweetness!
Ohhh i just loved this book! Every page brought a smile to my face!I wasn't sure i was going to like Mal. I thought he may be too flighty for my liking but boy was i wrong! Caden made the real him come out and it was a million times better than the persona! He was funny, i mean the Apple Cottage pie killed me! He was smart, his thoughts for all things business were brilliant. But most of all, for Caden, he was so damn sweet! Also vulnerable. He just wanted someone at his back. Someone who wanted him and not what he could offer them.Caden was perfect for Mal. He matched his snarky tenfold but he was also protective and supportive of Mal. He actually listened when Mal spoke and didn't treat him as an airhead, well after the initial meeting anyway! Lol It broke my heart to see him struggle with his debts because of some snakes he encountered. The way he felt it was his fault. Awwww felt so sorry for him! But Mal took all that and made him feel strong too. Gave him the tools to make his farm a success! The ending was just perfect, for both of them. I loved how they both brought things to the relationship. Seemingly miss-matched they just fit!The chemistry between them was hot but i loved how tentative they both were, it was like their subconcious was telling them it was right but their concious wouldn't allow them for a while to believe it was.Just loved them! Really really really loved them!Fantastic read! Lots of laugh out loud moments but also lots of sweet moments which will melt your heart!

Sweet read
This was a really sweet tale about a grumpy farmer and a snarky supermodel, and I loved it. On the shorter side so it was a quick read, but still felt like it was a regular novel.

Absolutely wonderful listen!
Independent reviewer for GRR, I was gifted the audio version of this book.Oh this was so delightful!Malachi finds himself stranded on a farm with a nasty chest infection. Caden owns said farm. What follows is a wonderful story of not judging what you see, and a battle of wits that had me laughing out loud walking up to work.Malachi is not ashamed of his job or his personality and is a very much take him as he is, or lump it. Caden is the same, but he starts to see a different Mal, one who creeps under his skin and into his heart. The same heart he was trying to keep locked up.I loved the idea of the strings pulling Mal to stay at the farm. Gave me a Twitterpated kinda feeling. When things go wrong, I was surprised the way it went. I was expecting Mal to be the bringer of doom.Joel Leslie narrates. It's been a while since I had a non American accent in my ear and Joel Leslie NEVER fails to disappoint. His voices for all the characters is spot on, and the accent that Caden has is subtle, but very clearly Cornish. It comes out stronger when he gets annoyed, or excited and I loved that.I can't fault this book, nor the narration and as such can only get . .5 full and shiny stars*same worded review will appear elsewhere
