Well-built pellet grill. Instructions could be slightly better.
The Z Grill 450A is a well-built pellet grill. It weighs 80+ lbs. without any pellets, which makes it a little hard for one person to carry. It comes with a separate one-page sheet for the instructions, which do not really code which part should be used for most of the diagram. I am sure I crossed some of the washers and I didn't use some of the parts that were provided, which may or may not be troubling. There are also some instructions that appeared more detailed in a separate document that came inside a plastic bag. Maybe that would have been a better place to start. They packed the parts all over the grill. Some are inside where you keep the pellets, others are inside the main grilling area, and others are below the heavy grill body. There are also multiple pieces in different boxes, so you have to go find the piece you are looking for as it may be in a place you do not suspect and maybe hard to find if it's a smaller piece. Bottom-line though is that they are all there (at least in my case). Regardless, I was able to assemble the pellet grill in about 1.5 hours. Then, you have to add another hour or so to do the initial tests. So after 2.5 hours or so, you are ready to use the pellet grill.Using the Z Grill 450A is fairly straight-forward. My first attempt was "decent," so I call that a win. I'm sure there's a little bit of a learning curve, so I won't blame the grill for that. I tried to make smoked chicken, which the recipe online says took the person 1.5 to 2.0 hours at 225F. Using the 450A, I was closer to 2.5 to 3.0 hours to get the chicken's internal temp to 165F.Compared to a charcoal grill, I would say that the convenience of having consistent temperature is great. Using electricity and as long as you have enough pellets, you do not need to worry about losing heat in the middle. The clean up is much easier, as you don't have to deal with all the used charcoal/ash. When you layer the grease pan and the drip pale (i.e., not sure that is what it is called but it is the pale that attaches to the side of the grill) with aluminum foil, the clean up is easier too. That has led to a much easier and enjoyable "after grilling" experience. The package comes with two really useful things. First, the rain cover with the slot for the chimney. That is just convenient and you don't have to go find a separate rain cover. Second, the wireless thermometer. This makes the Z Grill 450A a truly "set-and-forget" type of grill. You know the temp just by looking at your phone (after you install the app) of what you are grilling without having to manually check on it. The app itself allows you to choose what you are grilling and sets the temperature for it (e.g., chicken is at 165F and fish is a at 145F). The unit that the probes are attached to also displays the temperature, so you can also go closer to the grill and peek if you want to without having to open the grill.

Great smoker
I admit I am a novice smoker and pretty green at all this. I bought this mainly for my husband but we enjoy learning how to smoke food together.Right at the bat it came in a heavy box with no missing pieces. It did take a little bit to put together but there are quite a few parts. It came with very good instructions so that was nice. Still took over an hours to do.Once we assembled it we followed the instructions on how to first use it before any smoking of food on it should be done. We then covered the silver metal rounded piece with tin foil for easier cleaning, along with the drip bucket. This whole initial set up took about an hour. After the initial set up, simply put in whatever pellets you choose pending what meat you are cooking in the feed system and turn it on for the right setting for about 10 minutes. Then turn it on the temperature you want and add the meat, eggs, potatoes, etc... It comes with a wireless temperature probe so you don't have to constantly monitor your food which is good because every time you open the smoker it loses heat.I admit, our first attempt and somewhat second was not that great. It definitely takes some time to perfect this art!We found a pro tip which is to make sure the cover over the smoke stack is about a paint brush thickness wide. So not all the way screwed down. You may have to play with it to help your smoke maintain the temperature. Once we got it honed in the temperature didn't vary more than 10 degrees.Turning it on it easy, all you do is plug it in..much easier than charcoal.Overall it is a great smoker and good for beginners. The pellets seem to quickly melt away so it is not a cheap hobby BUT the food tastes delicious! I only wish it had more surface cooking.
