Smooth. Far better than a metal or sanding file - I've binned them and bought another of these for my travel bag. Unlike metal or sanding files you don't need different grades - just a little more pressure if sorting nail edges or serrations. My nails and (dare I say it) skin tags are now the smoothest and rounded I've ever known.After a couple of months I thought it was losing its edge but a gentle wash and a light scrub with an old toothbrush and it's like new.Can't recommend it enough - love it.

Really great. Took a risk because the last glass nail file I used was absolutely crap, but the reviews on this were so good I chose to give it a go. So glad I did, this nail file is great. Unlike a metal file it doesn't leave nails feeling rough, edges come out smooth. Also it files very quickly; I was worried it would take ages to shape nails because it's softer on them, but nope! Very efficient, far less abrasive, and the price seems like a bargain👌🏾My one gripe is the sound the file made when I first started using it (kind of like styrofoam rubbing together, not nice). With more use that's stopped now/I'm used to it. Honestly though, this genuinely is a great file, would recommend!

LOVE this nail file! (Yes I realise it’s just a nail file, but...) I’ve been lucky enough to have nice (natural) nails my whole life and I’ve never had a glass file this excellent before.I’ve had several glass files which resulted in my having avoided them for a long time because they weren’t brilliant, but after this I’ll never go back.Super smooth usage but versatile enough to take off exactly as much or as little as required.Arrives nicely packaged and comes in a little case to keep it safe. I got the turquoise (wish I’d got the other colour now but I’ll live with it!)Will make sure I only ever buy this brand in future! Thanks guys 😊

Seems good for now,leave smooths nails than others,but is hard to use it if u want to change the nail shape and use it in corners,to make square nails,is a bit ticker than I tought

I've never used this type of nail file before but after speaking to many professionals about my brittle nails I was recommended a glass nail file. Many of those are usually expensive and I didn't want to spend too much on it, especially that I didn't know if I would like it.I have to say that I am extremely impressed with the quality of this file. It effortlessly allows me to file my nails, it is gentle on the nail and skin as well. It doesn't chip or slide on the surface. After using it for almost 2 months now, my nails started becoming stronger and don't break as easily so I would definitely recommend it to anyone who struggles with weak nails.This nail file came in a nice packaging that allows me to store it safely as well so I can take it anywhere with me! :)
