Give these guys a try!
Pretty quiet on ride cymbals. Hard to do quick buzz rolls. Seems like they’ll be durable. I upgraded this to 4.5 stars. Really liking them now.

I tried them and liked, Wife used them and they broke after 3 songs.
//////////BUYER BEWARE\\\\\\\\When my wife tried these things, because she did not like the 5As because they were too loud, they broke after a couple of songs. She is not a heavy hitter. If anything I think she hits too softly. And it is past 30 days and I can not return the most expensive cheaply made crap. I will never buy another Vatter.Original review-----Works and sounds good. Not like a hot rod. this has a narrow wooden stick slit in quarters surrounded by slats of teflon/delrin looking surround. Very well made. Nice balance. Nice action.

Awesome Sticks
This is now my second pair. This stick is great for having the durability of a wood stick but lowered amount of volume. My only complaint would be that some times after normal use the bottom end cap comes off of them and requires the use of super glue when reattaching the cap. Other than that it is one of the best products I have used for volume control of the drum set.

Shockingly stays together super well; Well built
The rubber rings/bands that bind the product work surprisingly well. Other sticks that I've had before always suffer from bands that won't stay, requiring some tape to keep them on. These will stay together and last really long time. One word of caution is that when the white poly parts bend, it's hard (if not impossible) to get them to sit against the wood again.Store in something that won't cause the poly to bend.

Better than lightning rods except for rimclicks
I play in a worship band, and due to current limitations on our building's size and acoustics, I can't go all out with regular drumsticks. I didn't like how lightning rods had a different sound on the drums compared to regular drumsticks, so I thought I'd try these out. For the most part, I like them more than lightning rods; they sound closer to the sound of a regular drumstick, but at a lower volume. They're also quite durable; they've taken quite a beating, and still haven't been damaged yet (when I bought a pair from Guitar Center, the guy in store told me these things "last forever").Only downside is that your rimclicks are not going to sound as nice compared to regular drumsticks and lightning rods; most people won't be able to tell you were doing a rimclick. If I could rate these as a 4.5/5, I would.
