Packaging Strapping Banding Tensioning Tool - Sealer Tool Heavy Duty PP Plastic Strapping Kit

I purchased this banding kit to ship a few items on pallets. In typical fashion, the shipping and delivery by Amazon was blazing fast, and the unit is a very good value for the money. However, I have to agree with some of the other reviews. The tensioner is good and well made. It takes some experimenting to master, but this is normal I think. The biggest issue is with the band crimper. It "works" but it does take some "extra extra effort" to fully crimp the band clamps. Again, it works, but you do have to put some muscle into it. I solved this by adding some rectangular tube to the ends of the handles to get more mechanical advantage. In my opinion, this would be a five star product if the manufacturer simply added 4-5 inches to the length of the band crimping handles. As received, the unit is OK for occasional use, but I can only give it 3 stars for frequent use - unless you add length to the band crimping handles as I did. The strapping received is adequate for use, but also not of real high quality.

This is just what I needed to seal a large sewing machine box for shipping. The other reviews provide good points. Here are my opinions: The product is priced reasonably. The strapping material is not highest quality, but it meets my expectations for the price. Yes, it took a little experimenting to figure out how it works best. There aren't instructions for how to use it, but you can always turn to YOUTUBE for help. (SAFETY NOTE: Put the band clips on so the overlap is on the bottom if the straps, against the carton. This will avoid exposing package handlers to sharp edges. I'm just saying: Be kind. Don't shred delivery people!)

Used this for securing bags of charcoal to a pallet for freight shipping. Hoping the bands hold during transport...fingers crossed. Agree with other reviews that the strap material is not very strong. I will purchase a stronger strap the next time I use the tool. I would say the strap is rated for shipping boxes through the mail not for freight shipping. The crimper is almost impossible. I'm a woman and my husband could barely do it. He showed up for the last of 4 pallets after I had by some miracle gotten it to crimp on the first 3. I had to press it against my shoulder and use brute force while saying expletives in order to get the metal to crimp. Again, agree with other reviews that the video makes the crimping look easy. It is NOT. It is extremely difficult. Perhaps the metal is too thick.

A good unit. Bands well but needs to have the banding buckles made of a thinner sheet metal. The banding buckle is the metal buckle that holds the bands together. It is may opinion the buckle is made of such a heavy sheet metal making it difficult to squeeze the crimper unless you are superman! I've seen the video, and the user makes it look so easy to crimp. Maybe so if the metal was a littler thinner. Maybe my unit someone put extra heavy duty buckles? In any event, a good bander for the price.

Easy to use

The tension tool rachets up beautifully. However, there is NO ratcheting mechanism in the strapping crimper. Frustrating. Ruined a lot of clips trying to cinch them. Finally figured a way using intermediate steps to cinch it. Exhausting. The video is deceiving. Decided to keep it, because all the competing products look like the same cincher unless you pay hundreds more.

It took watching a YouTube video, but this strapping tool is very easy to use. I’ve used it to band together items for an upcoming move and it makes handling bulky items (like drawers) easy.One thing to mention…The straps that come with the kit are not meant to be over-tightened. They snap if you try to get them too tight. I found a nice firm tightness is sufficient to hold most things.

The instructions were blurry and almost unreadable. The first attempt the strapping broke while tightening. The second attempt was stopped as there was a splice in the strapping, decided to try it and it broke at the splice. Third attempt worked. You can't go too tight on this material. If you need something that needs to be very tight (secure) I would recommend a better strapping material. Was one of the least expensive on Amazon, go figure...
