I have never been a sucker for non-fiction books let alone the pretentious “self-help” genre. This book is rather a simple conversation between the author and the reader. The fact that it is so simply written and even simpler to read helps the reader to acknowledge the most difficult of questions that life has put a question mark on. The writer is not prioritising on finding the answers, he is highlighting what one shouldn’t be afraid to tell oneself. The writer through this handbook has tried to reveal some of the harshest realities that one is just not up for admitting. He has provided his own definitions for the abstract feelings of hope, love and happiness. He has given reader the opportunity to embrace the truth, no matter how bitter it is and to reflect upon what went wrong, without blaming it in the easy excuses. This book is a quintessential guide on how not to perceive things, how not be the one taking risks blindly without measuring the odds, how to analyse what one really wants in life, how not all negative emotions have one dwindling down the road and can actually fuel one’s conscience for getting better, how to handle toxic bosses, relationships and when to just let go.This is one such book that I’ll probably recommend to everyone. Not because there aren’t already a bunch of books out there talking about the same things, but because this one doesn’t sugar coat anything and whatever the author implies kinda hits at the right spot!

Life sucks, and you have to get used it, but you’re not alone.
Life Sucks Get Used To It by Mohamed ZubairGenre - Non-fiction (not a self-help)Pages - 155When you read this book, you don’t read a self-help book, you read the most pessimistic self-love guide you can find, and you’re gonna feel more empowered and happier than ever.Life Sucks Get Used To It is not a self-help book. It is a book that paints a picture of what the world is like in the present times, where it may go in the future, how difficult it is to survive in such a world and how you can not only survive, but thrive too.So many books try to point our perception towards the beautiful parts of the world and rightly so, but that perception is often shattered once we drop the book. Zubair on the other hand paints the ugliest picture, probably uglier than your actual life is, and then tells you how you can soar high, and you think to yourself - “if I can soar high in this ugly picture, I can soar higher in my real life!”I had a tingling sensation and a sly smile throughout the book. Self-love is not a reward, it is a tool in this book, and I never realized it’s importance the way I did once I was done. The language is easy, simple, rough, tough, striking, and heart-warming.Life sucks, and you have to get used it, but you’re not alone. Therefore, if you are looking for a non-filter friend to guide you through all areas of life, this is your book.

"Hedonic adaptation" read to find what it means.
A true reflection of the current situation faced by the young generation of people. Appreciate the unbiased reflection and conversation by Mohamed zubair. No beating around the bush, it's a blunt, straight from heart. I just felt as if I was in a conversation with a friend who knew to express in written words. Yes life sucks many times these days, get used to it and keep going. Live, learn and Let go. Mr.Zubair, do complete your other books we will definitely read them.
