After 25 years of using the HP 10B, the 10B+ is fantastic
Who knew there was a 10B+? When did they release this thing? It's so much better than my trusty 10B which finally bit the dust on a business trip. I think it got squashed one too many times into the overhead bin in my laptop bag. So why is the 10B+ better? It's lighter. I didn't think that would matter, but this thing is seriously feather light whereas my 10B actually had some weight to it. It has all of the 10B functions. I didn't lose a thing, but with an additional shift button, there are even more functions available to me, including some handy finance functions for calculating bond values. But it really is the little things that set this apart from it's antiquated predecessor. When you turn off the calculator and turn it back on, it holds the last value. "That feature doesn't matter," you say. Au contraire. I'm in the middle of some calcs and realize my coffee has run dry. This happens with disturbing frequency. I get up to go brew the coffee. A coworker wants to chat about some problem they need me to solve for them. It takes a few minutes to wiggle out of that responsibility without committing to fixing their problem and certainly without committing to a deadline. Again, a frequent exercise I go through. I come back to my desk and lo and behold my calculator has turned off to save its battery. With the 10B, I've totally forgotten the last value I had calculated, and so had my calculator. With the 10B+, I just turn that bad boy on and I'm back right where I left it. With a full cup of coffee. That matters. That really matters. It's a nice calculator. And it doesn't have that pesky reverse notation that only engineers understand. I'm a CPA. Straightforward calcs, please. 10B+ is the one for me.

Good calculator. Purchased for a finance course. Not the newest model, but still gets the job done.

Ideal calculator for finance
I bought this calculator to use in my finance class and I'm glad to say it did not disappoint. It has made my life a whole lot easier in regards to organizing and solving problems. The calculator came as a recommendation from my professor and I have to say, I will definitely continue to use it for future finance classes.

Impeccable as ever
I bought one of these nearly twenty-five years ago for my career as a financial planner, and the only reason I needed I new one is because I finally lost it…. Texas Instruments! Seriously reliable. I am almost certain I will find my first one again and it’ll still turn on and work flawlessly. Until then, loving the consistency of this product over nearly three decades.

It works, but...
Was a little strange there was no manual. Of course was easy to find online, but didn't completely correspond. Also button color has apparently been changed, confusing outside instructions from a certification course, and some button labels are so small they can't clearly be seen without magnification.
